We were given this restaurant by one of the Marriott employees as the best loco moco around, except hers!! This is definitely a locals breakfast and lunch spot. The loco moco was excellent as were the eggs, spam and ham and the fried shrimp. If you are looking for a local experience with excellent food this is a good spot... More

Tip Top was recommended to us as great breakfast place, especially the macadamia nut pancakes. When we arrived the live was almost out the door, but we were seated within 20 minutes. People leaving raved about the food. We could hardly wait. We our food arrived we could not understand what all the hoopla was about. Both of us thought... More

On our yearly vacations to Kauai we now go to the Tip Top Café for our first breakfast. I love the pancakes! They fill the plate and you can have them with bananas or macadamia nuts. They also make killer omelets, which you can get with hash browns, sausage, toast etc etc until you may not eat the rest of... More

We eat here once a year on our trip to Kauai. Always have the same thing as we come for the Loco Moco. We are not talking "Gourmet" here, but good down home cooking. Others at our table have chosen different dishes (at Breakfast) and been pleased with the quality and quantity of the food. Excellent service, quick and friendly.... More

As you have all noticed, this is a popular local spot for breakfast. Take a look around - the most popular dishes being consumed around you are the ridiculous oxtail soup, fried rice, loco moco, and macadamia nut pancakes. And probably in that order of popularity. If you visit this spot upon recommendation and order anything else, you're missing the... More

So, you are a tourist, but you want to get away from them for a bit? Then try this unassuming place, off a side-street, with no particular ambiance but good food and lots of local folks, and pretty good service (except when they get really busy it can be sort of hit-and-miss). The pancakes are very good, although the syrups... More

We always try and have at least one breakfast here when we visit Kauai. A nice place to visit with local folks.

We had a great breakfast to suit the whole family. Service was great, food excellent and good value for money. What more could you ask for, hey.

Ate two breakfasts here. Had slow service on one and fast on the other. Food was good. I recommend avoiding the bacon though as that was disappointing. Try the spam instead. The pancakes with bananas and Macadamia nuts were da bomb.

If you are looking for ambiance or a nice beach view, this is NOT the place. If you are looking for good food at a price that won't blow your vacation budget, this IS the place. My wife liked the oxtail soup, I went with the Grand Slam breakfast (macadamia nuts pancakes). All of it was very good. The bacon... More
