We were looking for a local place for dinner on Kauai near the airport. Someone recommended this place as one where we'd find friendly service and great food. Right on the first point: the staff was very warm, welcoming and efficient. The food, however ... not so good. The fried chicken and shrimp were so overdone and hard as to... More

Got a little time between flights? Or tired of the typical resort restaurant fare? This restaurant has been in business for over 75 years. Friendly service and family owned. Guaranteed great meal!

Don't be fooled by the Barbeque moniker. This place has all kinds of homestyle food. We tried it out for lunch, and had the shrimp alfredo and the kalua pork and cabbage. Soup or salad and drink are included along with dessert. We had the hearty potato soup and the mixed greens salad and finished with pumpkin crisp and the... More

We visited this restaurant today. Tucked away off the main street this little gem is so cute. I had the don burri and my boyfriend had the chicken cutlet. Both came with soup. Fresh, fast and tasty. Looking forward to the next visit already.

We discovered this place probably 10 years ago. Right on Rice St, it's super easy to find and if there isn't parking on Rice street then there is a parking lot in back where you should always find a space. There are doors on Rice and from the back parking area. No reservations are taken here, and typically none are... More

Had a nice experience here. Food was good, more like homemade. Staff was friendly, funny and efficient. We were able to bring in our own wine and beer to enjoy with our dinner.

Restaurant hard to find in a sketchy area but worth the search. Good homestyle local food with dinners including soup, entree and dessert. Loved their teri chicken, tempura, fried rice dinner.

We wanted some local inexpensive food, and this place was recommended by a local we had friended up with.It was good food, and the service was above average. The decor was a little tired, so don 't go there if you are looking for upscale! If you are looking for good food at a value, this is the place.

This little gem is off the beaten path. It is located just before another little restaurant that tourists usually frequent. There are a lot of restaurants on Kauai where I just can't eat the food due to seasonings or simply due to the fact the food is not cooked. I have lived on Kauai almost 50 years so have frequented... This restaurant is very popular with locals and so you might not see any tourists there. Entrees are freshly prepared and are really good. Prices are reasonable and the portions are certainly not lacking. The atmosphere is like an old, dark Denney's. The food and experience of eating at a local restaurant make this a place that you should try.
