It's a fun dive, I would not say the food was amazing, the broth was not layered in subtle flavour, but it's not a gourmet restaurant. For what it is it's good. And you can eat a lot of food.

Ordered the special Everything noodles which included pork, fish, pork wontons and homemade noodles !! It was the best I've ever had ! I also ordered tempura shrimp on a stick and others ordered chicken on stick and they were fabulous !! Little lady told us she had been there since 1952 !!!

We just visited: don't miss out on the Lilikoi (Passionfruit) chiffon pie. It's really light, and really good!

Just a hole in the wall but had amazing food! Folks waiting along the edge of the walls waiting for seats... first come first serve. Smells amazing and food is fresh. Definitely where the locals eat! Was a little weird listening to 'let it snow' and rudolf the red nosed reindeer in the background in 80 degree weather but I... More

Small, no frills, diner experience. We all got the special. It was awesome. Also got the chiffon pie which was good too. If this place opened up where I lived, I would go all the time. I would be curious to try everything they have to offer.

Small place, counters with stools. Had the "special," which seemed to be the popular item and one that pretty much everyone had. Great spicy mustard. BBQ skewers were also quite juicy and delicious. Good value. Would eat there again.

After seeing this spot on the Travel Channel (Island Explorers-Capturing Hawaii) the wife and I decided to give it a shot after landing on Kauai. The place is small but had a homely feel which I enjoy. The wife ordered Wonton soup and I chose the Specialty Saimin with a side order of shrimp (three pieces-$2.50 per shrimp). The saimin... More

If you like Saimin try this local tradition. Take out or sit down this place is a real change of pace. The shrimp tempura is great too!

A must on our next visit. Kind staff, great food. Lilikoi chiffon pie was heavenly. Light and reminded me of something from childhood. Lots of locals there - we had the BBQ' chicken served on skewers, Saimin Special & 2 regular Saimins. Portions are generous!

There's always a wait here. Get the "Special" it has cabbage, 1/2 had boiled egg, vegetables. BBQ beef skewers were better than chicken. Cash only.
