Food was very good, wait staff excellent and atmosphere/view very good. We had an ocean sunset view in an open setting (no windows). Cost for the meal is on the high end.

We almost overlooked this gem. The Kukuiula shopping center has a couple great restaurants but Merriman's is the best. We decided to stop in on our last day while shopping for gifts. We didn't have any reservations but were able to get a table by...More

We did not have dinner there but we did go twice for drinks and apps. We sat at the bar and were treated well. The sunsets were extraordinary, the apps were delicious and the drinks were great!

Pizza was over-priced, especially for the limited amount of toppings. That was bad enough, but the waiter we had was the rudest person ever, which really spoiled our meal.

Merriman's setting is gorgeous. The food... well .... It is a very popular spot and I suppose people are used to a $46 entree. I guess we had culture shock (and we are New Yorkers!) but we were disappointed in the overall value. While the...More

Merriman's was a terrific meal and we really loved the atmosphere, service, and food. The food is expensive and so is the wine, however, their fish is amazing and we even tried some of their meats which were terrific too.

By far our best meal in Kauai. The setting was lovely -- though in the shopping mall, it was on the second level and the open air, typically Hawaiian dining style was tastefully appointed. Food was great, interesting, tasty, artfully prepared. Recommended!

We've had two superb lunches at the Merriman's in Waimea. Dinner in Poipu was a disappointment. The quality of the food and the cocktails was pedestrian and definitely not worth the price. The rating would be worse but for the friendly attentive service. Red Salt...More

We stopped by for lunch. Three of our four meals were wonderful. The kale salad, large and fresh. The Korean pork tacos and the quesadilla excellent. Truffle fries were ordered, with outstanding house made ketchup. All good. The lone disappointment was the Margarita pizza. The...More

Yes but agree the top level is more fine dining and the children would be better suited to the lower levels. This was a lovely restaurant.

Description
In a casual yet elegant setting of an Old Hawaii Plantation, Chef-Owner Peter Merriman serves his unique style of Hawaii Regional Cuisine in Kauai's Poipu. A pioneer in the "Farm to Table" concept, Peter serves only the freshest products, at least 90% of which are locally grown or caught, using only sustainable methods. His international menu items are prepared in a manner that highlights the natural flavors of these fresh and local foods. Located in Poipu, we feature both mauka (mountain) and makai (ocean) views as well as sunset views over the Kukui'ula resort. We offer a premium bar upstairs, a downstairs cafe for casual dining, and over 1,000 bottles of wine in our cellar. Our facilities can host private parties and meetings. Our aloha-friendly staff, with a food and beverage knowledge second to none, will ensure that you have an extraordinary dining experience.
