After reading glowing reviews and a friend's recommendation, we made dinner reservations at Palate. We absolutely loved their Moroccan Carrot Ginger Soup and their salad of the day. Excellent items! We were not as enthused about their flatbread or the lobster entree. Service was good,...but they only had one guy preparing meals for the entire restaurant. We would definitely come back for soup and salad but would try different entrees.More
We heard of a free wine tasting which was advertised at The Bistro, a restaurant in the same small shopping area as Palate. It turns out the wine tasting was at Palate so we investigated to find a very small restaurant with every table filled....There was room at the bar, so we stayed and enjoyed two complimentary white German wines and a delectable small plate of appetizers. Oh, was it good. We decided there and then to remain for our evening meal. The open kitchen is located at the rear of the restaurant and our seats at the bar afforded a fascinating view of the chef in action. The special that night was crab-encrusted baked ono served on a bed of palenta with dill cream sauce...preceded by a deliciously fresh beet salad (all ingredients organically grown in the local area). Two servers and a sous-chef rounded out the entire staff. In conversation with our server we learned Palate has been in operation five years, and The Bistro twenty-two years with the chef working in both. I enjoy wine with a meal and their reserve wines are out of my price range but they did offer lesser priced wines by a 2 oz pour, a glass pour or a bottle with prices clearly marked above the bar and in the menu. I heartily agree with the five-star ratings given by other reviewers and I suggest making a reservation to reserve what will undoubtedly be a rewarding dining experience.More
Very interesting and appealing combinations of foods created a delectable meal. Seats 20+/-. Service was exceptionally great. Wished we had time to return there again. Highly recommend experiencing an evening out in a smaller venue off the main highway and sits off the end of...a small, quaint shopping mall. Even the shopping mall was enjoyable to browse through and buy. Some unusual items there.More
I don't drink so can't speak to the wine, but love the food and combination of interesting ingredients used. One of our favorites is the fig bisque - so so yummy!! The staff is welcoming and friendly and love the open kitchen - nice place...for a meal.More
The food and wine is always beyond delicious. I always do the flight of wine with my food so I can savor all the pairings. They recently accommodated a huge group for my birthday celebration and made it extremely easy & enjoyable. My favorite place...on the island.More
Palate Wine Bar & Restaurant decor is soothing and relaxing, Awesome vibe and friendly knowledgeable staff. Taste a few wines and decide where to start. The culinary magic is delicious; flatbread pizzas are amazing and don't miss the Oven Roasted Golden Beets; YUM!! Vegetarian, vegan,...gluten-free options and plenty for meat eaters too. Don't miss this GEM!More
We had stopped at the wine store next door and the cashier there told us about the wine bar. They have a free tasting one night a week and it happened to be that night. We went for the tasting and planned to stay for...dinner. The three tastings were good two of them were sparkling along with a nice Chardonnay. We ordered the charcuterie plate which was too big for two people but delicious. We had ordered our dinner before the cheese plate came out and that was a mistake. We couldn’t eat our food and they don’t have take out containers. They wrapped our to go in foil for the trip home. Worked out okay but was a little unusual. The only downside is that as the place filled up it got really warm. Really warm. Sweat dripping off you warm.
Go for the free tasting, order some delicious cheese and meat and enjoy an hour or so of a nice atmosphere.More

I think it was particularly busy the day we were there because there was a conference meeting nearby and a lot of the people from the conference came to the wine bar after their meeting. Earlier is probably better than late if you want a table, and weekdays are probably better than weekends. Enjoy.
