Sadly this just wasn't the experience I had hoped it would be. It was way to touristy for my liking. Some of the other reviews do a great job outlining what to expect. We stayed for the whole thing hoping it would get better but it just didn't. The grounds are really nice. The food was okay. The cocktails were... More

We visited the Smith family Luau and had a really lovely evening. We were picked up from our hotel and taken to the beautiful tropical gardens where we were greeted by girls wearing Leis who we were photographed with. We watched the pig coming out of the ground whilst a member of the Smith family told us the sort of... More

This is a great luau to attend if you make an afternoon of it and take the Fern Grotto tour before the Luau. The grounds are very beautiful and once you enter you can ride the free trolley around and see all the beautiful flowers, trees and birds. My grand kids really enjoyed feeding the birds. The emu ceremony is... More

We opted to go to this luau instead of the one promoted by our NCL Hawaiian cruise. It turned out to be a fantastic decision. Shuttle to and from the dock was available for a slight charge. We did get a discount for booking the luau through their website. Smith family does a great job organizing the event. Unlimited food... More

Made reservations online and saved $$$. We used their free transportation which is perfect after free, unlimited Mai Tai's! After you arrive they take you on a tour of their beautiful gardens via tram. Then you can watch the imu ceremony and then proceed to the luau room. They offer free drinks and wonderful food (buffet style, all you can... More

Now this was not a typical Luau, it was the best Luau and show that I have ever seen (Ihave been at over 8+ versions before). For an enjoyable night out with great food and show, go the Smith Family Luau in Kaui.

The family that runs this place were all very friendly and always smiling. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous. The food was ok. It's a buffett style meal with about 100-150 other people. Not the best place for a romantic dinner. But they definitely put in the effort. But the food fell short.

If you want an end seat at a table, get it before you explore the garden. Those spots were taken by 5:30. If you have six or more in your party, they can set aside seats for you. The food and staff made dinner highly enjoyable, and everyone got their food and drinks very quickly. The show after dinner was... More

The only positive at he Luau was the open bar. The food and the performance were both lacking. I had so much hope for the performance but it seemed to drag like a long day at the office. Too bad because the garden and the setting were great. As for the food, I expected to see authentic, original Hawaiian dishes... More
