We have attended this Luau 3 times. It is by far the BEST Luau on all the islands. The expansive grounds/gardens are beautiful. Plenty of chairs through out to sit and relax while observing the gardens and surrounding mountains. Doves, birds, peacocks and of course rooster and chickens. The welcoming and Imu ceremony are great. Entertaining and informative. Dinner is... More

There are two luaus on the island: Smiths and the one at Gaylords. We didn't go to Gaylords but the Smith experience was very good. As you would expect at a luau, the food was abundant and delicious. The Kalua Pork and the sweet and sour Mahi-Mahi was very good. The Mai Tai's were also very good and abundant.

We shopped around before booking the luau because Smith's is a family operation and not one orchestrated by a resort. The meal presentation was awesome and authentic. Excellent show followed with a story of many lands. Dancers were right up close and by their facial expressions we could tell they enjoyed what they were doing. We also suggest taking the... More

Beautiful grounds. Very well organized and each event was on schedule and 300+ people moved through the drink and food lines quickly. Complete with dinner entertainment before moving to the theater for the show. It is great to see this hardworking family and entertainers put on a fun evening.

We had dinner here and it was very good. The gardens are a good collection of the various floria that have migrated to the islands. They set up 6 buffet lines for the 400 guests the evening we were there. All the foods were very good and there was not a big delay in getting fed. They had entertainment during... More

I reserved the luau for a group online. It was quick and easy and included clear information. They have an option online to get picked up at your hotel if you are staying on the east shore. Upon arriving they checked us in and gave us each a shell lei. We then boarded a tram which gave us a tour... More

We'll run. Very accommodating for some who needs to eat gluten free. Show was good but whole experience runs a bit long.

This was our second visit the to Kauai and Smith Family Luau. Both times the food has been delicious and the show and hospitality exceptional! They go out of their way to make sure you feel welcome and let you know you're welcome to go back through the buffet. If there's only one thing you do on visit to Kauai... More

I will say that the food was better here than other luaus we have been to. They offer an open bar which other limit you to one or two drinks. The show they give is okay. They show dances from the different islands.

It is expensive, but so are all the other luaus. If you are trying to choose one, pick this one. It is in beautiful gardens, run by a native Hawaiian family (with an English grandpa, Smith). The food is delicious and the show is impressive.
