They have few good foods I really like but ::: Oh my goodness the customer service here sucks badly people are just so rude and they believe if you take anything back you just want money , not because there could be something really wrong with it the customers are always wrong here. They won't lose money because I stop... More

Handy in Safeway mall. We figured they are a health food store, cafe must be safe. Ordered fish taco and blackened fish nori wrap. No listing of ingredients anywhere, order desk setup difficult to ask detailed questions. I got hives at the end of the meal. Reflecting upon it, it must've had wasabi mayo (dairy) and soy, they also serve... More

I am sorry that your body did not respond well to your enjoyable meal. Unfortunately, as you very well know because of your allergic reactions to certain foods, what is safe for one person is not for another. Although we are not an allergy free store or café we are very sensitive to those individuals that need to avoid certain... More

Met all the requirements of a health food store just like back home. Fresh produce, Kombucha, Bulk seeds, Premade foods and boxed/ frozen foods. Even a frequent purchaser program. In the Safeway (Kauai Village) shopping center. 808-323-0190. Plenty of staff to ring you out. Right on the main highway, Mountain side of street. Wailua. Takes credit cards.

Thanks for your review and we are glad we made you feel as comfortable as back home. The phone number you listed is incorrect though; you must just be fast on the keyboard :) The correct number is 808-823-0190. Come visit us next time you return. More

The market has a huge selection of vegan and vegetarian foods...for home preparation and for eating right there. Granted, the tables and chairs are under some cool and colorful purple umbrellas outside...but the folks that work there are delightful and their selection of prepared and for sale items is unparalleled on the island. Tucked into the corner of a strip... More

Health food stores are kind of my mecca. I get really excited to be in them, and wander the aisles looking for new treasures and favourite goodies to pick up. Papaya's was no exception - it's on the smaller side, but still has all the essentials and we were lucky to be within walking distance on our recent stay in... More

When we travel, we usually do the bulk of our shopping at Costco. However, there are certain things that can only be found in Natural Food Stores. This is where Papaya's comes in. They have a good selection of bulk ingredients and Red Mill products. Just be a little prepared for sticker shop if you're expecting mainland prices. This store... More

If you shop at a co-op or natural foods store at home, Papaya's will feel very welcoming! Great selection of supplements, condiments, snacks, drinks, fresh and frozen items. There is a food bar and juice bar. That seemed a little on the expensive side. But the store itself is well stocked and very friendly staff. There is a Safeway in... More

This is not about a restaurant, but a grocery store with gluten free, and vegetarian items. And local fruit/veggies. Not a lot on the island. When you want to cook something, don't want to buy a big jar cause you're on vacation, go here and get 2 tbsps in bulk of what you need. Other items may be expensive, but... More

We ran in here for take out for a quick lunch and ordered the fish tacos. They were fantastic, the best of many we tried on Kauai during our 10 day stay. We choose the chipotle aioli which added just the right amount of great spice. Didn't think I could eat both of the tacos but they were so delicious,... More

Call it a health food store, and somehow that entitles an establishment to charge high prices for their products, when the same products can be found in grocery stores for up to 30% less! I guess there's a need for people who think they're eating healthy products to pay high prices, however when observing the high percentage of customers that are either... More
