You'll find the Waipouli Deli in a small strip mall right next to Auto Zone: just look for the line of people waiting outside the door. You'll need to walk inside to see the 90-pound grandmother running the front register. She'll take your order, give...you a number, and ask you to wait outside until a table opens up for you. This is very small family run restaurant that serves local favorites. My wife's fried chicken was cut Asian style with a cleaver, crispy, hot from the fryer, and delicious. She also thought the potato-mac salad was excellent. My classic Loco Moco had two fried eggs, two hamburger patties, two scoops rice, and onion gravy. Yum! The semi-permanent south bound traffic jam in Kapaa is annoying. But this deli is a great choice is you are in the area. Popular with families and locals enjoying a good meal at a fair price.More

5 stars…the food and service were amazing. The menu had a very nice variety and had something for everyone, it is hard to find places like that while on vacation.

We stopped for breakfast before staring a tour. Lovely older woman opened the door with a friendly greeting. Gave our order at the counter. I got a mushroom and cheese omelet and hubby got eggs, bacon and hash browns. All good, but, seriously the best...mushrooms in the omelet. Not sure what they used to season them with, but the flavor was incredible, along with the abundance of them! I am salivating just thinking about them. Wish they were closer to where we’re staying. If you’re near Kapaa, I highly recommend this local gem.More

We took a chance and excellent. Everyone walking out said it was the best and the fact that the counter was full of pick up orders tells you how good it was. We ordered the “half” order of the chicken cutlet and French toast with...sausage both were excellent & the homemade ice cream with Oreos was pretty good also. Highly recommend! It’s tucked away behind McDonald’s but don’t miss it.More

We enjoyed our simple fare of local favorites here. The beef stew was amazingly good and everyone enjoyed their special pancakes and loco moco.

My Aunty took me here, because it was one of Grandpa's favorite restaurant. It's one of the only restaurants that I've been to near Kapaa that's still open after COVID. They had a lot of different types of donburi (stuff on rice). I got Chicken...Katsu and noodles on rice, because ... that's 3 of the 4 food groups in Hawaii (rice, noodles/pasta, bread/breading ... it was only missing potatoes). NOTE: This is a joke, but it's funny because it's true. The katsu sauce was a little more like gravy, but it was still good. Parking was easy, because it's in a strip mall. We had a small wait for an open table, but turnover was pretty fast.More

A small, tucked in little Deli serving home cooked meals in portions you'll be stuffed with! So much good food, great prices, and easy to order online and pickup. Everyone was so friendly and some true "home" cooking! Try the Mix plate for variety, or...the delicious Chicken Cutlet with Gravy.More

Hole in the wall place that we didn’t expect to be this good....but we read a ton of reviews and they were right on! Had the corned beef hash for breakfast, but never this way before. Deep fried croquettes topped with brown sauce. Unexpectedly delish....Ordered it with poached eggs for breakfast today and added a TON of their chili’s in water sauce. Perfect!More

I was the only non-local in the place - good service - wide selection on the menu - excellent pricing. I went mainly to try to the "Gotterburg Sausage" breakfast (think it's actually (Gotheburg - you CAN buy it at Foodland next door but they...come in a HUGE size only) . Even though I've been coming to Kauai regularly since '71, I'd never heard much about it nor had I eaten it... much better than the tourist popular Portuguese sausage! Not as greasy and it has great flavor. I would certainly go back and try some other dishes if I had more time.More

Wonderful Spinach and Feta Omelet with fresh ingredients; very good Oatmeal and the service was good, even though they were Super Busy. Mostly locals, which is a really good sign.

We didn’t want to eat breakfast at our hotel which has expensive prices, so found Waipouli Restaurant. This is a local family run restaurant. Breakfast served all day, and it’s good! I ordered 2 eggs scrambled, Portuguese sausage, hashbrowns, coffee and a side of pancake....Large portions, prompt friendly service. A lot of visitors and also many locals and “regulars” dining here for breakfast, so you know it is good. Very attentive wait staff.More

Great food, huge menu, generous portions! This is a hole-in-the-wall local place that closes at 2. Family run. Tasty! Save room and buy a package of their cookies for dessert..

Great little storefront restaurant. Local food is delicious and plates are plentiful. Very affordable. Loved the mixed grill plate. Take out or eat in. Breakfast served all day.

Set back in a shopping center corner, food is worth the time to find it. Nothing fancy just good flavorful homestyle food. The restaurant is old, small, crowded with tables but not uncomfortable. The service is fast , the menu is extensive, the portions are...large and the price reasonable. Had a strong Asian feel but is a fusion of selections representing the ethnic make up of the island. I would go again.More
