Luckily got a late afternoon dinner reservation . Great appetizers, wonderful wine selection and great entrées. Definitely have the chips—delicious with a cold beer. Salads were outstanding and large. The entrées…..well, I had the grilled Ahi and my wife had the short ribs: both were...outstanding! Expect service, a great locale for photos . Our only complaint—we asked for a specific empty table upon arriving but were told that it was reserved ( didn’t know or see that a specific table could be reserved). The table we wanted went empty for over 90 minutes before a couple was seated there…..for drinks only.More

Had a nice date night with the wifey here. It was her favorite meal on our vacation. I thoroughly enjoyed my tenderloin as well. The service was great. We were at the pool on Wednesday night and heard live music that was really good. The...night we went they didnt have music, apparently they only have it on Weds nights. We ate there when it was dark, so there maybe a nice view during daylight, but i am not sure. The meals are pricey, but that is pretty much how all restaurants in HI are.More

A step into Foodie-Land. Beautiful setting near the beach, outstanding service. Pricey, with entre's in the $40 range. A memorable experience.

Great dinner with the family. The food was high quality and executed well. The server, Jojo, was great, and the GM, Ryan, was very cool and knowledgeable. They have put together some of the best food we had on the island- especially the Mai Tai!...Highly recommended-More

We made a reservation here on a whim, having stumbled into it the night before when we were waiting for our Jo2 reservation and couldn’t get a seat. It was good that we came back. Like Sam’s Ocean View, these folk start with the advantage...of a spectacular ocean view, such that a competent burger would make a satisfying dining experience. The food and service were much better than that, and I would rate them with Sam’s at the top of Kapaa restaurant experiences. We shared the Caprese tomatoes, which were well presented and very tasty. My filet was perfectly done and well presented. Her taro burger was very satisfying. The wine list was out of a couple things but we found a tasty substitute. The chocolate dessert was sufficiently inviting that we saved room, and we’re glad we did. The server was engaging and the manager attentively came by to find out how it had been for us. Don’t miss this one if you are here for any length of time.More

The food is really good. Much better than TidePool. The view is ok because the hostess sit us at the back of the restaurant. Food: 5 star Service: 5 star. My server Cameron is friendly and nice I took one star off because the hostess...is a racist. This senior heavy set lady sit certain race of people and the prime location. It is so strange because she herself is a local.... If they want to be a 5 star restaurant, this kind of behavior need to change.More

This beachside restaurant was directly on our resort property so we had to check it out. It is a small restaurant so reservations were a must. The menu is small but each dish is expertly prepared and our server was very knowledgeable regarding each dish...and was able to answer all of our questions. It was our most expensive meal during our week long stay but the quality and presentation was outstanding.More

The poke contained almost no fish, the wedge salad had almost no bacon or blue cheese and the salad dressing was from a bottle. I would discourage anyone from dining there. We had a great dinner at the Sheraton just down the street.

We had our last and best meal of our trip at Oasis. Henry was our outstanding waiter, very attentive and informative, plus just a delight. We started with perfect cocktails (old fashioned and grapefruit lilikoi martini) and delicious poke appetizer. For dinner I had the...Grilled catch with breadfruit gnocchi that was phenomenal (the manager caught me licking my plate & happily told the chef)! My husband had the fish special, also excellent. We tried the Apple banana spring roll for dessert and really enjoyed it. Overall it was a fabulous experience - beautiful spot by the ocean, excellent service, and outstanding food. A perfect end to our wonderful week in paradise.More

One of the first dinner reservations we made for our week was at Oasis. We were not disappointed. The location, service and food was excellent. Daina got off on the right foot with us by offering to take a photo as the sun was setting....Her service and every food item we had were top shelf. It was a memorable evening and if we are so fortunate to visit Kauai again, this will be the first reservation we make.More

Of the three restaurants that we visited on the island this was the best. It was the least crowded, had the best view and was the best value for the money. We visited 2 other highly rated "up-scale" restaurants, and this was the best.

We had an amazing experience at Oasis! There were 6 of us and we all raved about the food as well as the service. We had a dinner reservation but went early for drinks. We were seated at a beautiful outdoor table and were greeted...within moments by Kaimana, our busboy. Ka’ala, our server for the evening, promptly arrived for our drink orders. We had Hawaiian Punch, Mai tia’s and Pineapple martinis, all of which were excellent. We had seared and grilled ahi, short ribs, house salad and the Oasis terrine for dessert. Every meal was a big hit. My seared ahi was done to perfection and everyone else reported the same. Ryan, the manager came to greet our group and make sure all was well. We were so pleased that we had been deterred by the negative reviews as we could not have had a better experience. Highly recommend!More

We made a reservation at Oasis by the Beach because it had such great reviews. We even told another couple on our tour group, and they made a reservation too. They went at 5:30pm and she warned me that she did not like her meal....We went at 6:15pm. We were seated after about 10 minutes. We were given water and then we never saw a waiter for 30-45 minutes. No drink orders or meal orders were taken. We tried to make eye contact with anyone who worked there, but no one would even look at us. Finally, we flagged a waiter who half-heartedly apologized for the wait. We wanted to start with calamari, and he told us that he didn't recommend it because it seems to be getting sent back a lot. So, he recommended the clams instead, so we went with that. We ordered a caprese style salad, house salad with an additional piece of ahi (asked for it cooked medium rare), the gnocchi with grilled fresh catch (we were told they were out of the fresh catch and that it would be ahi). We ordered the seared catch, but also had to change it a filet mignon because there was no fresh catch. Our last dish was the braised boneless short rib. The clams, caprese style salad were a good start (also a long wait). The rest of the food was not good. The ahi on both plates were overcooked (past well done), the gnocchi was rubbery and inedible, the short rib and the filet mignon weren't horrible, but certainly not worth the price. Mediocre to inedible was not what we were looking for. The ambiance wasn't what we expected either - not elegant, not with an amazing view. We watched the bartenders flirt with two women all night as we waited for the waiter to ask us how it was or give us the check. It was a long night (2.5-3 hours) to spend with bad service and bad food. There was no shortage of workers - there were food runners and many waiters. We went to 4 islands, went to many restaurants in 12 days and this was the worst meal we had - and one of the most expensive. I think I am being nice by giving it 2 stars instead of 1.More
