This a casual lunch spot that serves great Hawaiian lunch platters. The service is welcoming and they try hard to help. This is a standard stop for us when traveling through Kapaa. Grab a few plates, poke and a handful of musubis and then drive 10 minutes north and have a picnic out on the beach. Their lau lau is... More

I stopped in yesterday for lunch with friends. Pono market has one of the best plate lunches I've had in 7 months on Kauai. The prices are standard, maybe even a little better than many places. They also have ala carte options which is convenient. I will definitely be eating here regularly.

Very fresh Hawaiian food. Locals serving locals, they don't have much patience with a visitor that doesn't know the menu. Large portions of fresh tasty food. I had plate lunch of fried chicken, rice, lomi salmon, and spicy poke. coconut mangu packaged on counter by the registrar was very good. Total was $18.00 no drink!!

We walked into a small place with a huge line- Thought for sure the poke must be outstanding as per MANY reviews. I get to the case and see that every poke dish says " previously frozen". What?! Fresh Ahi on almost every menu that I have seen and this place known for poke uses frozen? I had tried poke... More

We came here after seeing it recommended in the Air NZ Ki Ora magazine and are glad we made the stop. The queue was pretty crazy (not quite out the door), but it was worth the wait. We shared a $13.50 pork, rice and two poke sides (seafood salad and sesame ahi) and it was so big we couldn't finish... More

The fried chicken here is supposed to be great but they were sold out by 2:30 in the afternoon, so I had the Kalua Pork over rice. My husband had the Poke Bowl (ahi tuna) and said it was the best he ever tasted.

This was recommended by Captain Bob ("Captain Sundown") as the best Poke in the state of Hawaii. We weren't disappointed. We chose the Shoyu Ahi, the Spicy Ahi, and the Sesame Ahi Tuna. We bought one of each in the small container as well as the Hawaiian Macaroni Potato salad so we could snack on the Kapaa beach. We agree... More

Wanted to pick up some poke and snacks for later after feasting at the food trucks a block away. Good fresh poke.( both the ahi with onions and ahi with sesame oil). Yummy rolls and the Manjus were excellent. I just wish I picked up more items to try. Definitely worth a stop.

Simply the best Hawaiian-style fried chicken, ahi poke, and spam musubi on the island. The store opens at 6 am and closes at 4 pm, but most everything is sold out by 1 pm. You will have to wait in quite a long line if you go during lunch time, so get there before 11 am. They have daily plate... More

Odd, but I couldn't seem to find good coffee in Kauai until I tried this place the second to last day I was in town. I ordered an 8 oz americano. I didn't have to tell him to use two shots. It was perfect. And yes, I am an unapologetic coffee snob from Seattle. I tried another coffee place down... More
