Things we liked: Chicken wings - great smokey flavor, bbq bourbon sauce was really good. Wings were a little dry. Poutine - Everything about this was awesome! Super smokey flavor Avalon Burger - Just the right amount of spice. Bacon was delicious. Really good burger....Fish and Chips - Good and fresh Beyond Burger - Also good Fantastic Bourbon list to choose from We got there shorty after they opened which I would suggest doing. It’s a very small place with not a lot of seating options. People were waiting the entire time we were there. Server was really nice but our actual service was really, really slow. Took roughly 10 minutes to get water. Another 10 minutes before our server came back to ask if we were ready to order. Ordered our drinks with the food. Getting drinks took a long time as well. Looks like they only have 1 bartender working. We got our drinks at almost the same time as our food. Kudos to the kitchen for getting our food out as fast as they did with the amount of people likely ordering at the same time as well as take out orders. We loved everything about this place just wished they could’ve gotten their drinks out a little sooner. Our group would’ve ordered another round if they would’ve come out a little sooner. At $14 a cocktail, they have to be missing out on a ton of $ if this is the normal turnaround time for cocktails.More

We eat here every few months. Their lamb chops are the best ever, and the fish and chips with ono are great. The restaurant would have gotten a solid 4 except for the service. A cocktail had to be sent back. They brought us a...wrong entree and 1 pf our party had to wait while the rest ate. Except for an “I’m sorry,” they offered nothing. And the dessert menu was brought to the table with the entrees. The chef is great, but.....More

Ate here twice in our 2 weeks in Kapaa. Great ambience, helpful and very friendly staff. So nice to have so many GF options!

A small cosy environment with a very warm feel to it The food was fantastic. I am a scotch egg expert and these are amongst the best I have ever tasted. Chef is on full display and works that small kitchen to full effect. Also...had the fish sandwich which was amazing. My wife has the fish and chips and said the batter was the lightest / driest she has tasted ! My only slight criticism - chef, make homemade fries. You could complement any fish with a good “chunky chip”.More

Thefood was excellent and the service amazing. The bartender is the owner, who is from Boston(I forgive him!). He has a great knowledge of his craft and I recommned it for a great dfining experience.

We visited it twice. Once for dinner, second time for drinks and dessert. Great bar scene. Fun staff. Tried and Loved: Mai Tai, Jalapeno infused Margarita, and smoked Manhattan. Dinner was very good. Second time, we had dessert sticky toffee pudding--Amazing!

It's actually right on the main road but an easy drive by as there is a lot in the area. We had fish n chips, duck breast and burgers. All were great. Duck was cooked nicely, still pink and juicy, fat rendered well with a...crisp skin layer. My wife loved her fish and chips. Our server seemed genuinely happy to be there and was smiling at tables and while walking. I would definitely return.More

We enjoyed fresh fish and a duck salad here, and both were delicious. The food is very well prepared and tasty. This is right on Highway 56 between the Wailua river bridge and Kapa'a. Parking is available.

Finally got a chance to try Avalon Gastropub when we found ourselves in Kapaa for a show, and really enjoyed it. The highlight was the drinks, which while pricey were excellent. My favorites were Up in Smoke and their take on the Lemon Drop, as...I am not a big bourbon or whiskey drinker. They make most of their syrups and garnishes on-site, and you can tell the difference from bottled mixes. In terms of food we really enjoyed the poutine - the smoked brisket and gravy were so flavorful. I also liked the Dirty South burger - the tomato jam and the bacon jam were wonderful. Would have liked a little more seasoning in the batter for the fried pickles, and the smoked wings were tasty but a tad dry. Overall it was a great meal, and we look forward to going back and trying more of the menu.More

This was an outstanding place to eat. We ventured here when another restaurant we were planning on eating at was closed. And I’m so glad we did. The food and drinks are creative and delicious and the wait staff wonderful. We plan on going back...to try other items on the menu.More
