The staff was friendly and patien and the food was awesome! We specifically went here to try out their loco moco and were very pleased with the results! The pancakes were also great - light and fluffy! The local coffee was amazing. We went multiple...times while on Kauai and would definitely go back next time we visit the island.More
The description of this restaurant mentions "Vegan Options", however there are almost no vegan options at breakfast. Bagel or toast with jelly is about the only thing they offer. The person taking our order was actually embarrassed that was all they had. The breakfast menu...is basically meat and eggs. Also, they no longer have self-serve coffee refills available. If you buy a cup of coffee, you get a cup of coffee. Getting to be typical but not ideal for a breakfast place.More
Very nice little place! We arrived early before they opened and it was worth the wait! Great local coffee! My husband absolutely loved his bacon, egg and cheese croissant! It was his favorite breakfast during our stay on Kauai! Service was warm, friendly and prompt!...Was planning on visiting again during our stay, but they were closing the next day for renovations for a week, so even though we understood that happens sometimes, we were disappointed that we could not visit again during our stay!More
We stopped at this place on our way to Wiamea Canyon. It's a combination bakery and restaurant. There was bit of a line, but it wasn't long before we were seated. the food was delicious and the service was great. We purchased a pastry on...our way out, and that was also delicious.More
If you are looking for a place to eat that is outside the hustle and bustle of Poipu or Kapa'a then this is a great place to stop as you head off to the Kauai Coffee farms or the Grand Canyon. They have very tasty...food options. Since it was breakfast I opted for the Loco Moco and it is certainly impossible to pass up their baked goods.More
Trying to find somewhere for breakfast near where we were staying was a problem, so we drove 13 miles to Kalaheo Cafe. Liked it so much we made the trip every day of our stay in Kauai. The variety on the menu was excellent. My...husband even tried the Loco Moco. Over the course of our visits, we had omelets, french toast, eggs benedict, and more. Liked everything we tried, but my favorite was the Cinnamon French Toast! .Our visit happened to include Mother's Day and the Cafe was packed. The food runners and bussers somehow managed to keep track of who was next for a table and kept people moving. I will say that we never felt rushed. Everyone we came in contact with was friendly and helpful. The only downside is the parking.More
My wife and I stopped by here for lunch while driving around the island of Kauai. We had seen a TV ad for this place and that influenced our decision to give it a try. The positives were friendly staff, clean and well-maintained establishment, very...good food, and free parking. The negatives were there was limited and tight parking, most of the sandwiches were ala carte and did not come with sides, food items are pricey, and they do not give free refills on their fountain drinks and iced tea. (Unlike every other restaurant we have visited in Hawaii that do provide free refills for these items.) Everything you buy in Hawaii tends to be pricey however, not providing at least one free refill for basic fountain drinks was a turn-off for me.More
This place was amazing! Great food and wonderful service !! Must visit! This place is a hopping place. Simply amazing
After going to Kauai three times in the last four years, my wife and I decided to have breakfast here. We arrived early to get a table, and discovered that you perused the menu from a stack near the entrance, then ordered at the counter....No big deal, this was obviously a precaution from the pandemic. I ordered Portuguese sausage and eggs (typical at McDonalds) with hash browns and a mini corn muffin. My wife had the scramble (she loved it). I had downed three cups of coffee before hand so we opted for water. I felt awkward since they rang you up at the counter for the bill. The first thing on the screen was the amount of tip you could leave, I did not want to stiff them, but was also uncomfortable with waiting to the end. So gave them 15%. Our bill came to over $35. No worries since vacation dollars flow more freely than regular dollars. However, the meal was nothing special, eggs over easy were fine, three small diagonal slivers of Portuguese sausage, some heavily oiled hash browns, and a mini corn muffin grilled in butter or something similar. They brought out your food, and that is the ONLY interaction you get. You have to get your own water, they have a sign at the table that encourages you not to linger. So enjoy and please leave quickly. BTW we sat at a table so close to our neighbors, that I could have scratched their backs. So Covid was a concern, but not overly. Kauai is beautiful and everything tastes good, but in my opinion, this place is a bit, if not a lot, overrated. Family of four? Plan on $80 or more for okay food and zero service.More
We have one gluten free and one dairy free person and they have many options and are very accommodating, even some GF bakery options. Great food and wonderful staff!
Kalaheo Cafe was recommended to us by someone who lives on the island. This was a great breakfast place. The espresso drinks were fantastic and the food was delicious. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I wish we had more mornings on Kauai in...order to dine at this cafe again.More
Amazingly fresh sandwiches, and the strawberry cake was light and fluffy. Delicious food, really nice staff, with a great atmosphere! Very nice little shop next door too! Definitely worth the stop for lunch or brunch.
If you like brunch, this place is well worth the wait. While this counter-service gem gets busy, the service is efficient and friendly. Delicious fresh ingredients are expertly crafted into yummy deliciousness.
We had an excellent experience at Kalaheo Cafe for dinner. After years of stopping in here for coffee and baked goods, we opted to stop in for dinner because we were tired of the usual options. We made a great decision. Everyone enjoyed their entrees....The had a good kids menu. All the food tasted fresh and there were locally sourced options on the menu. It’s a casual vibe, but felt cozy and welcoming. The staff was friendly and efficient.More
