My wife and I came here on a date night and loved the ambience and the tasty food with inventive flavor and texture combinations like the cucumber-avocado salad with fried garbanzo beans. Service was perfect, attentive, cheerful, helpful. It made the whole evening very enjoyable,...especially at the end of 2020. The drinks also offered new, very tasty, twists on common drinks. And, the Lilikoi Cheesecake put the whole evening over the top! We'll be back!More

One of our best meals on the island - fabulous ambiance, top notch service, excellent food and drinks. Never figured out why they don't provide serving spoons with each item esp. since they're all technically 'shared plates' - regardless would 100% return when we're back...up in the north shore again.More

Wow!! This is my second visit to Bar Acuda and it has far surpassed my first visit by miles. While the first visit included an incredible menu, this time, every single dish that was served to our table was five-star. From the babygreens to the...fish of the day (ono today which was braised to perfection and served with a white bean peppered with bacon and flecks of deliciousness) followed by the pizzeta and ending with two orders of the lamb riblets with an extra leg of lamb per order… Exquisite! Though I balked at dessert, my companion order the Lilikoi cheesecake. Let’s just say that second fork didn’t go unused LOL. What a tremendous way to celebrate the reopening of this fantastic restaurant. If you’ve never been or if it’s been some time, do yourself a favor and make a reservation immediately. And don’t forget to order two orders of the lamb riblets… You won’t want to share.More

We were first turned on to this restaurant by our neighbors. The way they raves about the food I knew we had to pay it a visit. Now having been several times, each for a different occasion, I can honestly say it is a universal...win in our eyes! Even our kids loved the food. My daughter who was recovering from chemo and ratiation had struggled with finding food that suited her new taste buds, and even she was in love. The dish she ordered: Octopus. <3 ^_^ Thank you Bar Accuda for always making our visit special and delectable. We can't wait to visit you on our next trip.More

Make a reservation so you are guaranteed a table. We loved Bar Acuda! Everything was flavorful and fresh. Our favorite items included the ahi carpaccio, the seared sea scallop, and the honeycomb, goat cheese, and Fuji apple platter. Their complimentary bread and butter are divine....You can't go wrong at Bar Acuda.More

Vibrant, delicious, and creative food served in a high energy, lively, and exciting space. Loved the food and wines. Really enjoyed the cauliflower with boquerones, sea scallops, and albondigas. Friendly and good looking staff.

This is a busy place that serves regional food tapas style. The menu is interesting. the food is quite good and it's my favorite restaurant in the north shore. I liked the endive salad and the lamb riblettes. The cucumber salad with roast chick peas...was refreshing. The pizzeta with carmelized onions, shaved brussel sprouts and lardons was tasty. Order 2-3 plates each. Reservations recommended.More

Reservations are recommended and for a good reason...the place is busy. We had one so all was well. The specialty cocktails are creative. My wife doesn't like sweet drinks and the Sunset Fire was perfect for her with lime and grapefruit. Our waiter thoughtfully checked...to see if she was OK with the smoky flavor of mezcal. She was. I loved the Bee-Keeper: bourbon, ginger, honey, and lemon. It's a tapas place with a nice variety. The three we had were all great. Tops for us was the North Shore Honeycomb with goat cheese and thinly sliced Fuji apple. Amazing flavor combination. Most of the seating is on a wrap-around lanai with the tables along the rail. Be aware of the weather and dress appropriately. Our week in Hanalei was wildly wet and windy. Wearing a Hawaiian shirt, shorts, and sandals I was cold with the wind blowing through the lanai despite the mid-70s temperature. My wife had dressed more sensibly.More

Didn’t notice anyone taking out but not sure. Worth going and sitting on the outside porch and relaxing and trying their creative tapas. Delicious!!

You can get one of the few seats at the bar if you are there right when they open, or later in the night. Locals have a better chance of being slid in at a table without reservations (hey, it's small town – jus sayin'). That... More
