We stopped here early in the morning on our way to do the Na Pali hike. Locals waiting outside for it to open was a good indication that it would be worth waiting for. We had a breakfast sushi roll that was unlike anything I have seen before. The malasadas and pastries were still warm from coming out of the... More

Based on TA reviews, we went to the Village Snack and Bake Shop for breakfast one day while vacationing in Hanalei. The restaurant is drab, messy and unappealing. The counter staff were not friendly. The breakfast (loco moco, blueberry pancakes, waffles) were okay; nothing special, served on styrofoam plates w/ plastic utensils. Prices were reasonable, about $8-10 per meal.

When we placed the order at the counter, we were warned that it would take 30 minutes to get our food. We were fine with that. You can customize your omelettes with different types of meat including spam, vegetables, and cheese. Omelettes were good. Banana bread was really good.

We grabbed breakfast here before a boat tour. It was recommended as a hole-in-the-wall, which is accurate. Nothing fancy. Breakfast sandwich was good. My family members both got breakfast wraps and said they were great. Lots of locals having coffee, and GMA on TV. Yummy looking desserts too; may have to return to taste those.

I really liked this little snack shop...it's really a restaurant with great food too.The chili chicken was amazing and the apple cobbler was to die for. The crust is insane.

Having visited little out-of-the-way places in search of local alternatives to expensive resort dining (such as the excellent 808 Grindz Cafe in Lahaina), when I saw this place had moco loco I had high hopes. Too high, as it turns out. The place is easy to find, parking is in the Ching Young Village mall parking lot. Decor: The interior... More

Great place for an early breakfast on the way to the beach. Reasonable, well prepared breakfast. Nothing fancy just a good failing breakfast to start the day. Haupia and lillikoi pies if you are a pie for breakfast person.

We were shopping at Ching Young Village and kept seeing people seated outside with delicious looking food so finally asked where they got it and were pointed to Village Snack and Bakery. Ching Young Village has been around for decades, and this little restaurant looks like it's been there for just as long--truly retro, in an authentic way, with no... More

This is a small bakery with a small attached restaurant. We tried the malassadas and both coconut and apple turnovers. Everything was excellent but the malassadas were the best we have had anywhere.
