A great restaurant after a day of exploring Volcanos National Park. Wonderful atmosphere in this family run restaurant. Chef not afraid to be original. Excellent service on the evening we were there. We enjoyed Chicken Tuscany and Safari Schnitzel. Locals obviously enjoy the ambiance. Make...More

We arrived for a late lunch in Dec. 2014. The food had been prepared ahead of time and had been reheated. (they mentioned they only had 2 omelets left) The banana bread and some of the other food was still cold in the middle. Out...More

Been there two times already. Love the food, ambiance, and service. The menu always has either local treats or unusual offerings such as rabbit, bison, etc. There's also an excellent wine selection.

The menu here is very predictable as is the quality of the service, food and drinks. The fish of the day is always good with a nice selection of how to have it prepared. The drinks are fun and always good. This is not a...More

Great brunch- absolutely delicious local-flavored French Toast with coconut syrup! This was the first meal of my honeymoon, and a great way to start.

The bizzare melange of flavours had and upside in that it detracted from the overheated and filled past capacity dining room. I would guess the chefs where experimenting with recipes. The meal was cool and forgettable. The server was only attentive when she produced the...More

Expecting a great meal, we found our experience somewhat odd, a curious mix of old-world recipes combined with local and not so local ingredients. The duck was good, and I had great antelope! Our meal was accompanied by Christmas carolers, and a great wall exhibition...More

The lodge is so quaint and cozy. The food is exceptional and the service impeccable. If you're in the area you have to visit this restaurant. The fireplace is a neat conversation piece, and I thought it was very cool that several celebrities have eaten...More

Aloha. if you stayed in the Hale Maluna rooms (1-4) they are smaller than the Hale Aloha rooms because they are part of the historic YMCA buildings from 1937. The beds are more firm than soft, and it is difficult to... More

My husband jokingly said no puka pants and shirt. Actually we just advise casual elegance (jeans Clean shirt ) a lot of our diners come off the trail so fancy is not required. But honestly we even see fur wraps sometimes

Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant, located in the quiet village of Volcano, sits on 5 acres of gardens and gazebos and native forest. This hotel restaurant features a large fireplace, local art, koa tables, and is open nightly. Chef/owner Albert Jeyte blends flavors from his European background with farm, ranch and seafood products from Hawaii, the surrounding Pacific and elsewhere. Volcano Village is at 3700 feet elevation and evenings are often cool and misty. The historic fireplace welcomes guests with it's cheery fire. Home made soups and breads tease the appetite. Albert specializes in unusual game...venison, antelope, rabbit, duck. The biggest sellers are local fish dishes; ahi, ono, mahimahi and the exotic Tristan lobster. A large wine list complements the eclectic menu.
