Finally after all these years wondering why Yosemite Sam was a Bugs Bunny stalker. Succulent rabbit braised over the Kiluean caldera 🌋🔥

We had a really good dinner (and quite good breakfast the day after) at the Lodge. The food was very tasty, full of aromas, and more original than other places on the Island (antelope, duck, German sausages, ...). The duck was too sweet for me, however, even if I usually crave for sweet sauce on savory meaty dishes. My wife... More

We stayed nearby at a charming cottage (see my other reviews), and we thought to try somewhere local for dinner: this place was recommended by the owner of the cottage so we thought that it would be worthwhile giving it a go. We arrived in darkness, so while we couldn't get a good look at the overall property, the grounds... More

We stopped here for breakfast and were very pleased with the variety of options on the menu and then how good the food was. I had my usual Banana-Mac Pancakes and they were delicious.

Any evening spent near Volcano National Park means we must eat here at least once. The food is consistently good, as is the atmosphere and service. I especially love the rabbit dishes.

Apparently there are not many restaurants in Volcano serving dinner on Monday evening, but the lodge is open -and busy! Make sure the make a reservation. Food is pretty good, and we loved the passion fruit cocktails!

Food, drink (non Alcoholic) personalize services are the best for me. My friend had Gluten Free food and beer. We were surprised that Hawaii has such food and drink.

Mahalo for your review. Yes we have GF options. I guess the main impetus on that is that I, the wife of the Chef, have gluten issues. We have a staff and kitchen well versed in handling GF requests. I'm always surprised when we dine out how many restaurants don't supply the options. There's great GF pasta out there...we make... More

We had a great dinner here on the way back from viewing the volcano. The passion fruit margaritas were great, as was the fish. The most amazingly thing was the Brie appetizer- covered in coconut, fried and served with bread and apples. Wow! Wonderful meal!

Description
Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant, located in the quiet village of Volcano, sits on 5 acres of gardens and gazebos and native forest. This hotel restaurant features a large fireplace, local art, koa tables, and is open nightly. Chef/owner Albert Jeyte blends flavors from his European background with farm, ranch and seafood products from Hawaii, the surrounding Pacific and elsewhere.

Volcano Village is at 3700 feet elevation and evenings are often cool and misty. The historic fireplace welcomes guests with it's cheery fire. Home made soups and breads tease the appetite. Albert specializes in unusual game...venison, antelope, rabbit, duck. The biggest sellers are local fish dishes; ahi, ono, mahimahi and the exotic Tristan lobster. A large wine list complements the eclectic menu.
