Great baked goods. We especially love the Danish. You have to plan ahead and get there before they sell out. And buy extra, one is not enough. Also have cookies (famous locally) and donuts.

Get there EARLY! They're open until the sell out. Not only is this the source of the stone cookies (excellent, by the way) sold around the island, they make the most excellent pastries I've outside of Paris. A local favorite for a good reason. If you're near Mountain View in the morning (except Sunday) - don't miss it.

Great family business in Mtn View. Make sure you know the open hours and they are closed on Sundays. If you get there early enough you have a pick of the doughnuts. They sell out fast.

Many years ago, when we first moved to the Big Island, I stopped at Mountain View Bakery to get some doughnuts to take to work. I asked for a dozen and a half glazed doughnuts. The counter lady was shocked and she called in to the back bakery that I wanted eighteen doughnuts! The bakers actually came to the half... More

This litte bakery serves exotic baked goods, Ice cream ,sandwiches ,drinks and sells some gift items. If you have not tried Guava, Lilikoi pastries, ice cream or Kona Coffee..this is a nice, quick stop on the road.

Mountain View Bakery is located on the back street of a little village. But their pastries are heavenly...cinammon twists, bear claws, and other items that are so buttery, they melt in your mouth. The trouble with this bakery though is that much of their inventory is sold out by 12:00 noon. If you want to try their pastries, go there... More

Make the turn off of the main highway when passing through Mountain View and head straight to the Mountain View Bakery - you will not be disappointed. I think this small bakery closes at 1 pm so you'll need to get there early. The stone cookies are strangely addictive - get a bag or two for the road and you'll... More
