Such a good spot a good, fairly inexpensive meal. Always fresh and good. Service is good. No reason not to go to this hidden spot.

Tired and hungry after a delayed flight from Kauai. Got rental car and headed for Kona and just needed some food. Pulled in about ten mnutes before they closed and ordered a small order of teriyaki chicken and a full order of katsu chicken. Very...friendly, helpful staff! Lots of food, rice, and salad, hot and tasty, could not have been better.More

HORRIBLE, unfriendly staff, lukewarm food . I ordered corn beef hash because it had a good review, was disgusting. There was no corn beef to be seen, ground up potatoes and onions, no flavor. I have to say the two eggs were bright orange, which...tells they were fresh. My husband ordered the French toast, cold pats of butter that did not melt on the lukewarm French toast, had to hunt for the syrup. We were given no instructions. Also I do not know why every place for breakfast serves in a to go container, that is thrown in to a landfill. I will never return on our Kona trips again.More

Wish they had the menu printed somewhere near the door. Hard to read when you're at the back of the line. They can cook an egg well, but my short ribs were so salty I couldn't eat them.

Popped in here with the kids after a Kona sea Salt tour and we were all really pleased with the food! It’s a simple place in a strip mall, but don’t let that deter you. Order at the counter and they’ll call your name when...it’s ready we ordered the chicken teriyaki plate (amazing) which was enough for two and the kids split the chicken fingers plate which also was enough for two. Drinks are a little bit expensive so if you’ve got water along, maybe do that if you’re trying to save money.More

** Note: The Pine Tree Cafe is located in North Kona between Kona town and the airport — it’s definitely NOT in Kealakekua! ** This is one of the best eateries on the Big Island, hands down! They have a really expansive menu of Hawaiian...favorite dishes plus other choices for folks who want to eat mainland food. Everything is ono licious and super well prepared, their fish is always fresh and perfectly cooked :)). First time people: the portions for many of their dishes are BIG, so you can share (unless you’re way hungry!). Be sure to save room and try their desserts too. Enjoy one of our favorite places in Hawaii!More

We stumbled upon this cafe as we were looking for a public restroom. I know, sounds funny but gas station doesn’t have restrooms. Anyway, we wanted lunch before going to airport and came across this cafe. Great find! Best burgers and fries. Huge portions. We...should have split one order! A tremendous variety of foods to choose from and reasonable prices. Highly recommend.More

I think this is one of those "love it or hate it" places. It's a popular place for local residents. Not sure if there were a lot of tourists there. The menu is pretty large and the portions are huge. My wife had the Spicy...Garlic Chicken and I had the Chicken Fried Steak. She also ordered the daikon kimchi. You order at the counter before you sit down. There is no table service. Everything is very casual. I thought the food was surprisingly good. If you want to get away from franchise food and hotel restaurants, this is a good bet.More

Decent food, especially if you’re starving after getting off your KOA flight. The menu is pretty good, offering Hawaiian cuisine, filipino food, and classic burgers. Prices are a bit steep for what you get.

Great local spot with authentic food, good portions, large menu, & good quality. Oxtail soup is a must try, along with the loco moco & garlic chicken.

Nice place to get local foods at decent prices. Longer wait times, good tasting food, appropriate portions. Kid friendly menu. If you are in a rush, better to order ahead

Thé Turkey club, fries and banana bread were great. The plate lunches were mediocre at best. The Mac salad was awful. Threw it away. Not our favorite by any means.

The Pine Tree Cafe was recommended by a staff person at the nearby Kaloko-Honokōhau National Historical Park and I was so happy we went! I am still thinking about the spicy garlic chicken bowl I had. (We went back and I had the loco moco,...which was also quite good!) Service was a bit slow, but this was delicious.More

Unlike some of the reviews, we had ZERO problems. Yes, seating inside is limited and you order at the window and pick up your food when called and it does come in a take out box. BUT, the food was good and reasonably priced for...Hawaii. Guess the review from May was just a tad crabby after their 7 hour flight……..More

No reservations. Mainly pick up with outdoor and indoor tables you can eat at after you pick up your food.

Not yet, hopefully soon!! They do have tons of menu items to choose from, not to mention their daily specials on their board by the cashier.
