We went about 3 days into the reopening on a Sunday around 9am was very busy. Nice and clean inside. Food was great some of the better food we had while on the island. Service wasn't terrible they're just very busy, so expect a wait.
Website indicates it is open, but it is not due to COVID. It looks like they are remodeling. I realize businesses are stressed but how hard is it to update the website to not alienate future customers? We drove an hour to go there for...breakfast.More
The meal was amazing, the portion was easily enough for two (one and a half) meals via doggy bag. The pancakes were flavorful and the haupia syrup incredibly aromatic. We had pancakes and an omelette, splitting both. Good folks running this place and great chat...from our fellow diners.More
Tasty food , plentiful generous portions ....wonderful friendly servers. Our family members ordered 2 varieties of Moco loco , both flavorful sauces totally different, added a side of blood sausage... our mouths dropped when 5 large sausage showed up. The pancakes are ginormous ... 2...dinner plate sized , 1/2 inch thick per order. Very good pancakes!
My personal favorite was the hawaiian sweet bread french toast...so flavorful no syrup was necessary... the eggs were eggs, i would not order them again.
Will go backMore
Fantastic little cafe - a hidden gem. Great breakfasts and island atmosphere. Staff all so friendly. A brilliant place to visit but gets very very busy in the mornings. Wouldn't miss this one for the world!!
I find it difficult to give 5 to a restaurant that is primarily known for breakfast. How hard is it to screw up breakfast? I feel as if part of Hawaiian Style Cafe’s popularity is due to its largesse of the menu items; especially the...pancakes which might be mistaken for manhole covers. I’ve eaten here a couple of times for breakfast and have left completely satisfied if not somewhat gorged. Everything here is prepared just right and along with traditional breakfast menu items i.e. pancakes, eggs, sausage, ham, omelets, etc. there are nice local food choices that hit home. Lunch is served here until 1:30 and might be a viable option if you’re not willing to hang out with the early morning breakfast crowd. Actually the wait is usually not too long and once inside you encounter a fun, home style atmosphere complete u-shaped counter seating. I would concur with other reviewers to encourage not to miss having breakfast here but I would have to pump the brakes on saying this is the best breakfast ever. It’s good, don’t miss it at least once.More
Came to Hawaiian Style Cafe based on a recommendation from a staff member at Hilton Waikoloa
This is a small place that is a must on your list
The breakfast is hearty, very large and reasonably priced. My wife had the hash and highly recommends...it. They had spam on the menu and this brought long forgotten memories of when I used to have it for breakfast (yep, I’m a bit older)
This is a cash only place and they have an ATM. Parking is a bit of a challenge, work with it
Hours are limited so go on the morning or for an early lunch, you will not need dinnerMore
The best breakfast to be found here on the big island. The portion size on some of their entree's are just HUGE! I always treat myself to their Loco Moco and its excellent. You ought to see the size of their pancakes-wow-humongous! Great service, low...wait times and always friendly. For breakfast go early just when are they are opening, go later you could experience longer wait times to get in. Prices are moderate. Thee most best place for breakfast for me.More
