We stopped here while vacationing in the area. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit outside. We ordered a beer tasting which came in glasses in a muffin tin which was different but also kinda cool. For my meal I ordered Rockie’s famous fish bites which came with a spicy dipping sauce. I ordered the fish bites based on other reviews but I wasn’t really impressed with them. My husband ordered the wonton taco, haus taco and the fish taco which were all very tasty. We also ordered brewhaus fries with haus made beer cheese which was good. This is a nice stop if in the area but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here.

Excellent mission statement, be sure to read about it on their menu.
NM green chili stew was fabulous, that is saying a lot since we spend a solid amount of time in NM and have eaten our fare share of green chili stew ($7.50).
Fresh fish bites superb ($13-), chili relleno with fresh guacamole and homemade salsa ($8-).
Friendly service:)
A smaller restaurant with some seating indoors and some outdoors/covered.
We look forward to returning.

We stopped here for dinner on the way back to Kona from Hilo, as it was a good half-way point.
Although it's got a fun, brewhouse atmosphere, they made my 7 yo daughter feel quite welcome, and she got her burger & fries well before the adult mains (a godsend considering she was just about ready to complain of boredem).
My mom was really happy with her steak, while I ordered a fantastic and unique "island" inspired quesadilla with pineapple, and caramelized onions, and we shared a beer flight for the table.
Definitely would eat here again, even if it wasn't on the way.

We decided to try this restaurant out during our day exploring the northern section of the Big Island and were not disappointed. Excellent food, great service and a fun atmosphere. The Beer sampler they have is a great way to try out a wide variety of the beers they make. People of all ages were there and it was a perfect place to take a break.

We've been grabbin lunch in Waimea a lot lately and found the service and quality of food at Big Island Brewhaus to be consistently excellent every time. It's best to call ahead to see if a table is open since they implemented social distancing, but the staff are managing it well and it's a great place to grab a bite. The ahi nachos with guacamole (try either style: poke or seared) are some of the best infusion you'll find on the island. The burritos & burgers are always tasty as well.

We stopped for the first time for lunch. We had the famous fish bites and Paniolo burrito. Both were outstanding. Would order them again. The fish bites come with homemade dipping sauce that was tasty. The chips and cheese were pretty average. Had a couple of their house beers that were also very good. Service was excellent. Be back for sure.

They didn't allow indoor dining, it was a bit of a windy and chilly day so was a bit disappointed. The outdoor area could be better, especially when the food comes and the flies start coming.
I was disappointed that my burger came very, very rare and I ordered it medium. Told them they could nuke it, I did not need a new one but they made me a new one anyway.

We visited the Big Island Brewhaus expecting the best with regard to beers and hopeful the “pub grub” would be reasonable. We made our drink orders, and I started with a flight of beers to sample some of their beers. I tried the Paniolo Pale Ale, Malaya Lager, Red Giant Ale, Irie Irish Stout and Oktoberfiesta Bier. I was able to make my choices since this brewpub does it right. They just dont give a description and the ABV, they also provide the IBU of each beer. All of the samples I tasted were good, but my favorite was the Red Ale (which was very good). Others ordered the Overboard IPA, wine and a soda (DD). We tried the Rockie’s Fish Bites and they are unbelievably good (prior reviews said so but they were better than we ever expected). The garlic fries were another excellent appetizer.
Our dinners were two Black & Bleu Burger (very good) and two Chimichanga (just OK). Overall, it was an excellent visit, with great food and drinks. From an “atmosphere” standpoint, this is a brewpub, no more, no less. Unfortunately due to the COVID, they had outside seating only which limits capacity. But with that said, the excellent service, food and drinks make this little place a gem. We will definitely stop back here.

I’m local and have been going to the Brewhaus off and on for 4 years. I make it a point to take my visiting friends there for fish tacos and a beer. Today I took a couple there for lunch and was more than disappointed. I don’t mind spending the dollars for a good beer, knowing that it only costs about .50 per glass to make but $9.00 for one (1) fish taco? Come on, let’s be reasonable. You make a ton of money on beverages, you don’t need to bend over the locals and their guests on the food! It wasn’t too long ago when $9.00 bought two (2) fish tacos. Needless to say, I’ll be taking my friends and family to ‘Ole Brewing instead. At least I won’t feel like I’m getting bent over!

This place is located in Kamuela, Hawaii, the big island on the west side of the island. Near the town of Waimea and is a micro brewery that serves food. We stopped for an early dinner and outside dining was only open for service. Thye have a long list of beer. Started out with Rockie's fish bites, astro nachos, fish tacos, slider cheese burger, and a kekela greens salad. All were enjoyed except for my salad which had goat cheese and fish as added toppings. The salad was uneventful and not enjoyable..

Our family made the scenic drive to Waimea to get away from the overpriced and humdrum offerings at our Waikaloa hotel. While my husband relished his flight of tasty, hearty beer, we were all in heaven with the fantastic fare! Tina was the best of servers - congenial with plenty of aloha, knowledgeable and full of good suggestions. We ordered several vegetarian options and from the caprese salad (better than any we had in Italy) to the falafel tacos, and we were all in heaven! The subtle, complex, and balanced flavors of each of the dishes were wonderful. Nothing better than farm to table offerings and the Big Island Brewhaus put their mastery to both brewing and food preparation. Go there (but remember, no telling....)!

You have to stop here if you like craft beer and good food. Always one of our favorite stops here on the Big Island. Some unique and interesting beer styles can, at times, be found here. Such as, during our visit anyway, was their Bourbon Barrel Aged in Cherries IPA-knoe that is a unique beer and so very good! 15 beers were on tap ranging from a Gose to IPA's. Personally I think there IPA's are some best I have ever tasted. Pubfare food is available and the variety listed on their menu is very diverse. Great service as always-friendly and cordial. Indoor and outdoor seating. Prices I consider to be mid-range. All in all a real nice experience.

Good little plates. We have been here a number of times and it’s always good.
Beer was good!
1) fish bites were so delicious. The dipping sauce should be bottled!
2 fries were decent nothing spectacular. Had both cilantro dipping sauce was ok.
3) nachos were good. We asked to have seared ahi on it and they did a mice job at searing the cubes of fish.
4)wonton taco looked burnt and the coleslaw wasn’t great. Wouldn’t do that one again

the atmosphere here is great - everyone was super nice. The food was top notch - everything we ordered was delish. Most of the beers we tried were fantastic, depending on your palate. My husband and I thought they were quite tasty and interesting...My 73 year old father in law has less adventurous tastes and wasn't as thrilled by the variety. Especially the one that is made to taste like a Manhattan. But I don't drink Manhattans anyway, so I would never order a been modeled to taste like one....All in all, this was a great spot. I'd highly recommend it.

After reading good reviews, we decided to drive from Waikoloa to Waimea to try Big Island Brewhaus. We arrived about 4PM on a Friday, parked right up front & waited in line to be seated. No one came to check on the 7 of us waiting to be seated for quite a while. Once they did, we were seated right away. Even though photos show indoor seating, we were advised ONLY outside seating now, you must use your QR code to see the menu & MUST pay with credit card. It was chilly out & even though there is sort of a wall, the cool breeze came right through. Sitting outside was not ideal, based on the weather. Big Island does not carry any soft drinks except their own blend. My husband ordered the Green Chili Stew & LOVED it. It was spicy enough for him & hot which was good on this cool day. I had a fish taco which had no taste to speak of & for $8 it was terrible. We shared a small order of plain fries, which was plenty for 2, they were ok. My husband had a Golden Sabbath beer which he loved. Our server was very friendly & helpful. I would NOT call this a Mexican restaurant. I would not go back although my husband would.
