This restaurant may be one of Waimea's best kept secrets. With a much more "local" clientele than Merriman's (just up the road), Red Water Cafe delivers an incredibly fresh and flavorful meal that is a great value. Our table of 4 enjoyed 3 mixed drinks and and Iced Tea, starters for each of us and 4 entrees - all for... More

Excellent food. Jazz on Friday nights by the Red Water Trio. They serve sushi, fish, meat, and some wok dishes (incl vegetarian). Erdinger on tab. The food is very tasty and has good presentation. Service is friendly and attentive, albeit slow - but we were there to enjoy the evening, listen to music, and eat. And that was all good!

We ate lunch here en route to Kona. Situated in a smallish town, it was the most interesting looking restaurant that we found. The staff are very friendly and the cafe has a fun, quirky vibe. Try the fish sandwich with scrumptious Asian slaw. Very nice p,ace, big portions.

We had lunch here one day, and just loved the place. The interior is cozy with lots of dark wood, an interesting variety of artwork on the walls (including, in the hall to the rest rooms, the artwork of patrons who colored on the paper table coverings), and several separate dining areas. Spouse had the catch of the day ($18)... More

Start with the beet salad. It is a must if you like feta and beets. The corkage fee was very reasonable to bring your own wine. Try the fresh catch- red snapper was a hit. We tried the Susai rolls and they were fresh. A nice location for family and friends.

Pleasantly surprised by good food service and live music. Reservations seem to be preferred everywhere in Weimea we had the specials

Wow!! Forget Merriman's go to Red Water when wanting locally sourced island food prepared creatively and deliciously, this is the go to place. Excellent Sushi and rolls, fresh fish, steak, and smoked meats. The ribs on Saturday nights are to die for!! A favorite for us whenever we are on the island. Worth a trip to Wiamea!! After Ulu at... Ordered seafood Saimin, husband ordered a ruben. Both were pretty bland for the price but super large portions. Keiki meals were huge.

Aloha Sorry to hear your food was bland on your visit. I was training a new cook on the 29th, and must have missed that order going out. We strive to satisfy our customer needs, and hope sometime in the future we can serve you again. From the kitchen,we thank you for letting us know of your experience. More

I live fairly close to this restaurant and have eaten here dozens of times over the years. It's a popular choice with locals as prices given the quality of the food are reasonable and portions are large. Service is very friendly. The menu is very eclectic and they've recently added some interesting items like a very passable poisson cru (I'm... More

Choice between Red Water and Merriman's. We chose Red Water. Our friends live in Kamuela and knew the staff as well as several patrons who were having lunch that day. Lunch menu is great. We had Seafood Saimin (which was loaded with seafood) Grilled Chicken Sandwich and the Fresh Catch sandwich with curried fries. Very yummy - gotta try those... More
