We went to have dinner here to celebrate a birthday. Ambiance, food and service was excellent! The service was friendly, helpful and made wonderful recommendations. We ordered the filet mignon and the catch of the day, and both were prepared exquisitely. A truly remarkable dining experience!

Simply the best steakhouse. Filet mignon is to die for. Casual dress code, but natives dress up! So we did too. Quaint upscale restaurant. Tucked away in Waimea on the island of hawaii. Drinks are strong, service is friendly, efficient, and professionally charming. If you like steak make a reservation here. The menu has many other options as well.

Beautiful restaurant, gracious service, terrific food, chocolate purse. What else could you want? This is truly fine dining on the Big Island.

Great food and service! Loved the braised meat. And the saimin bowl was the best we've tasted. Their special iced tea and homeade ginger soda is delicious. Can't say enough good about this place. Wish we'd had time to go back a few more times!

We travel to the big island each year for our anniversary and usually spend our time at establishments within the resort areas surrounding our hotel. This trip we decided to take the short drive up into the high country to try Merriman's. Our entire experience was so amazing that we made reservations for a second night and the second evening... Excellent food prepared with local, fresh ingredients. Service was outstanding. Enjoy the cooler temps and beautiful green hillsides while in Waimea as well. If you have a rental car and you are wondering if it's worth the drive from the Coast resorts - it is. It's popular so a reservation would be recommended.

Their menu lists sumac grilled pumpkin. In the past, this has been very good, so I ordered it. What arrived was a very small portion of pumpkins with no sumac. The waitress apologized and said that it is very difficult to get sumac. She should have said this before the order was placed. Poor service, low value for what was... More

The food was delectable. Every bite was fresh, well prepared, well thought out, and expertly served. While it does not have the view of the Maui location, it is not needed with their attention to other details. This was our first "fancy" dinner out with our 2 & 4 year old. While most people in the restaurant were either couples... More

There used to be a Merriman's restaurant down at kona king's shop but it closed after 3 years or something since then we meant to go to the Merriman's main restaurant. The only con is it's a bit far from where we usually stay so we gotta secure one driver...but the restaurant is great! Its been there for 25 years,... More
