I've been going to Holuakoa since it was just a coffee shack. From the freshest local ingredients prepared simply, yet perfectly, to the luscious tropical atmosphere, this is a place that I've been returning to for 20+ years. You can tell the owners care about the details. The hanging jade flowers and beautiful koi pond are just a small part... More

Coffee and snacks or a full on restaurant will treat you in the tiny village of Holualoa, in the prime Kona coffee growing area on the Big Island. Just a short drive up Hualailai mountain, the village has several galleries and shops, but this cafe and restaurant is one of only two places to eat. You can dine inside or... More

Been in Kona a week and discovered this place. Far and away the best we have had. Great food, service and ambiance. Tuna, steak and fish incredible with wonderful deserts.

The food is always good, great specials, pure Kona coffee, and comfy surroundings. We love taking out of town guests, it's always a hit.

We ate here based on a friend's recommendation, and we had a lovely, delicious meal. Idyllic setting, very friendly wait staff and very well-prepared food. We had Caesar salad, cheeseburger, tuna melt, pulled pork and the Mediterranean plate. Everything was great!

This is a tough one. We were referred to this place by our server at Sam Choy's in Kona. It's a bit of a drive from Kona as well. The atmosphere is great as it seems like old Hawaii. You drive up through the hills and are offered some amazing views of the ocean and the Hawaii coast. You'll pass... More

This place was great. We had a really enjoyable dinner, everything super fresh, perfectly cooked fish, inventive salads. Far superior to anything we had down in Kona, well worth the short drive.

Open air restaurant in middle of coffee land can get a bit chilly at night. Menu offers good variety of selection. This is a slow food establishment so go there to enjoy a nice mellow evening with good company!

This restaurant is hands down the best restaurant in the Kailua-Kona area. Situated in Holualoa, a higher and cooler elevation than the oft oppressive heat of Kona, the outdoor garden setting and koi pond have a relaxing and calming effect. The food is outstanding and consistent, which is often difficult to find in the Kona area. Entrees are not inexpensive,... More

I have eaten both breakfast and lunch at this awesome café several times and I have never been disappointed. They are sustainable, using fresh fruits and veggies. Their menu is unusual and has a variety of yummy treats. I have attached pictures of the Coconut bread pudding French toast, the eggs Benedict and basic (not!) eggs and bacon. The toast... More
