I think this place mostly does breakfast but friends recommended it for dinner. We got a reservation for 6 and was surprised to see it was not crowded when we arrived. They are a farm to table type restaurant so the prices are high. The food was excellent. All six entrees we got were amazing. Portions were not huge but... More

......unless you just want a cup of coffee. Their sandwiches are a few bucks less than the Gardens', but I'm kicking myself for thinking the local ahi salad sandwich was anything like the fresh daily catch they were serving on the other side. Mine was a mayonnaise bomb, accompanied by the server whining to the barista about why no one... More

Went for dinner recently. We have been on previous years and this time it did not disappoint. The setting in beautiful and peaceful. The service was very attentive but not overbearing. The are a wide variety of starters and entrees for a wide range of tastes. This evening my wife started with a Caprese Salad. I would have to this... More

We had lunch and dinner here. Food was exceptional. The only negative is that it is all outside dining and it gets cool at night in December. They could invest in some heaters.

Enjoyed a delicious dinner here. Fresh everything, excellent and friendly service, in a pleasant outdoor setting. Caprese salad and blue cheese salads were terrific. Fresh, local ingredients, nicely presented. The tomato's were fantastic. For main courses we had vegetarian lasagna and gnocchi. Also made from fresh, local farm products. So tasty. While the place is not much to look at... More

We visited the Holuakoa Cafe & Gardens this week for dinner - just a wonderful scenic spot up on the hill above Kona - romantic for sure Erin looked after us with 5 star service We tried all of appetizers available (all yummy) and several of the main dishes - best main was likely the tenderloin - the mushroom based... We showed up without reservations. Although they sat us, they reminded us several times that we didn't make a reservation (to the point of feeling uncomfortable). We ended up leaving before they took our order

We went on Christmas Eve and we were eagerly awaiting a good meal. The service was surly and our meal took 2.5 hours and it wasn't a tasting menu. The waitress was rude to us and other diners. People were walking out of the restaurant and begging for bread after they waited 2 hours for their meal. The wait staff said... More

Fine dining in a very picturesque setting high above the coast with outdoor seating and overhead lights strung throughout the place. Food was very good, locally sourced vegetables, fish and kona beef. Not a fast dinnner, service is leisurely but the management forewarns you of this, prepared only when ordered. Koi ponds and chipping of the coqui(tree frogs) made the... More

I went to the Holuakoa Cafe & Gardens with my husband and a group of friends for brunch. We had a reservation, but it hardly seemed necessary as there were only a handful of tables occupied. The menu is limited, but they were able to modify the frittata due to a food allergy which was appreciated. Others at our table... More
