This is my favorite Thai place on the island! Hands down the best. The service is wonderful and the atmosphere is incredible! I love everything about it!

Stumbled upon this place when searching for "takeout" for my teens. Located in downtown Hilo on a side street with parking right outside so we ventured in. Much nicer then expected. We ordered food to go but would recommend for a casual date night meal. Ordered Chicken Pad Thai, Eggplant/Tofu, and vegi spring rolls w/shrimp. Not much shrimp in spring... More

A group of us went to the New Chiang Mai restaurant for Thai food. Instead of ordering personal dishes, we ordered dishes for family style consumption. Since there were eight of us, we decided to order six entrees. The best of the dishes were the evil dish with beef, a spicy stirfry with peanut sauce, the ahi (tuna) dish with... More

We asked at the Hawaiian Tropical Botanic Gardens where the best Thai food was, and they led us to Chiang Mai in Hilo. It was phenomenal. We are from LA and eat at many restaurants. This was a cut above all else, even better than Roy's in Waikoloa at the King's Shops where we ate the night before. The ono... More

I have very fond memories of going to this restaurant after doing a long craft fair day after day. I had pineapple fried rice in the past and my wife had the black bean noodles. Tonight I was hungry, but wanted some salad with the black bean noodles. They don't do small side portions of anything. That was a bummer.... More

We found this while looking for another Asian restaurant and the experience made us forget what we had been looking for. The fern sprout dish was a first for us and one we will return to enjoy again. The ginger ahi was excellent. We enjoyed the option of having three different rices. They are open daily so get there and... More

We shared a selection of Thai dishes, including pad thai and many others whose names I did not know.

Absolutely delicious, homemade thai cuisine in Hawaii! Incredibly friendly too!! The "Green Bean Dish Pad Pring Khing" is divine with the ginger infused through ever bite. Make this restaurant a destination!!

A large group of us had family style lunch over three tables and received a seemingly endless stream of dishes too numerous to name but including especially very fresh spring rolls, fried purple sweet potatoes, fried chicken and pad thai. Thai coffee was delicious. While the bricks and mortar are fairly simple, and the bar straightforward, every one of 8-10... More
