I was in the mood for fresh fish and a green salad and wanted to eat in my hotel room. I walked here from my hotel and the service was incredible. They were very helpful in customizing my order for my needs. Then I was...More
We wished that we had reservations because when we arrived, we learned that it would be 45 minutes. We came back and I'm glad that we did. We had very good service and yummy popcorn is served when you are seated that has a hint...More
We had spent the day hiking at Volcanoes National Park and returned to Hilo ravenous. We arrived for the HBC Afternoon Menu (in between lunch and dinner). We ordered a California Twist Sushi roll with tempura-style soft-shell crab as an appetizer, and two orders of...More
We were looking for a nice restaurant and saw this one on Yelp and we tried and had a great night.
The atmosphere was good. It is always full, so better if you book a table if you don't want to wait. We wanted to...More

Perfect view of Hilo Bay, great bartender but $22 of inedible fish and chips. Soggy, greasy fries and tempura battered AHI???? YUCK. Too dark and oily. ONO is the right choice. If you are a fish and chips fan, head to Cronies instead. Always Ono...More

This is the first time I've received an email from Trip Adviser. I'm told that a customer has a question, but I'm not quite sure what is the question, except maybe the customer is wondering whether or not Hilo Bay Cafe serves breakfast. The answer to that question is no-- we serve lunch, dinner, and in between. If they are wondering are there rats in management at Hilo Bay Cafe, then the answer to that question is also no. We are very nice people, working very hard, trying to provide great quality, innovative food at value prices. No rats. None at all.
