Perhaps the best meal we had over 1 week on the big island. Excellent sushi in particular, and very good service.

Great, fresh and local food prepared well. Agree with reviews below - had a really tasty late lunch. Cool view of Hilo Bay - must be even better at night!

I fell in love with Hilo thanks to Hilo Bay Cafe. We were visiting from NY and stopped at this non descript place at night after a long day of volcano watching and could not have been more enchanted by the service, food and beautiful energy in the restaurant. Ribs were good. The food is interesting, some Hawaiian flavors sweeten... More

Ok, the view is spectacular, but that doesn't justify overcharging your customers. I ordered the poke stack. It was very good but not $25 good. Things are expensive in Hawaii, I get that, but tuna is one of the few things they *don't* have to import from the mainland... staff was nice if not a little aloof. The beer was... More

We had a late lunch here and were very well pleased. We shared our orders of sushi and fish & chips. Both were excellent; the sushi was especially good. The server was friendly and efficient and the view of Hilo Bay from the deck is soothing and pleasant. The cafe is comfortable and elegant. We'd definitely dine here again.

We hadn't been here since they moved to this new location , right on Hilo Bay, with a breath taking view of Mauna Kea over the water. Excellent, friendly service, with very tasty, well prepared meals. A great place to have a company metting, a romantic dinner, or just a friendly meal. You can't go wrong !

We stumbled across this place during a day trip and decided to pop in. It looked very elegant, so we were a little concerned that we were under dressed but once we got in, it had a really comfortable vibe. My wife and I split the Ahi Poke and the Alii Mushroom Poke, both were delicious. We decided to get... More

Family lunch by the bay, wonderful views, and really good food. The waitstaff is well trained, and left us to enjoy our family time unhurried. Food is good, prices are about what you'd expect. Easy to find. Walk in the park after.

The food and ambiance are top notch in this on-the-water, fine dining restaurant, tucked away just off Banyan Drive. Walking distance from several hotels, it's both convenient and excellent. Although we came without a reservation and were asked to wait in the "lobby" because there was no room at the bar (a bit odd, but oh well), we were seated... More

We had been in Kona for a week, before moving over to the Hilo side of the island. During our time in Kona, not once did I find a restaurant that served good food/healthy food. Enter the Hilo Bay Cafe. In a pleasant atmosphere, with a lovely view, I found delicious food. I had a rice bowl with tofu that... More
