We stopped in the mall to pick up groceries and decided to grab a quick bite. Spot seemed popular with the locals. I had the spicy eggplant and chicken stir fry with fried rice, noodles and a pasta salad. Very reasonable prices, large portions and average quality food. My wife had the BLT - you need to ask for it... More

Amazing variety of japanese, chinese, filipino and hawaiian food choices. Lots of good food at a low price. One of the most popular lunch places in town. Their sticky rice is always prefectly cooked and forms the basis of all their dishes. Their Bento's are always great! Take the Korean Chicken bento! Have had lunch here over a hundred times... More

Looking for a cheap fast food place for a plate of local food, found Hiro's next to KTA Grocery. Outside seating. Quick, quick, quick.

I go to Hiro's at least twice a week. The Food is Da Bomb, the cost won't make you go broke but the attitude of the girls are awful. They don't smile, don't thank you and have no appreciation of you coming to their place of business. The food is GREAT and all my family goes there, but we all... More

I'm not sure how my wife and I heard about this place, but we did, and gave it a try. We went there for a quick breakfast on the way out to Volcanoes NP. Not much to look at, but definitely a crowd. Seating is outdoors at picnic tables. Ordering food is cafeteria style, and there's a line of locals... More

This is a good, typical, "local-style" fast-food restaurant, WAY different than the fast-food on the mainland. Here you'll find a mix of cultures and cuisines. Try any of their plate lunches, they are all good. Portions are generous and staff is pleasant. Be prepared for lines during breakfast and lunch hours, 7AM and 12 noon. Brown rice is available and... This place had yummy spam musubi, sweet potato tempura & nori fried chicken. Very inexpensive & convenient. This is not health food. Places like Hiro's are known for deep fried & high carb foods.

This is a hole in the wall of a shopping center but Guy (from Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives) would love it! Food was delicious and huge portions and very inexpensive. You either get it to go or eat on the picnic tables on the sidewalk. We tried 3 dishes - the roast beef, the meatloaf, and the fish platter. All... More

We found Hiro's Place on Yelp and will definitely be back! It's cafeteria style and only seating is outdoors but there are a lot of choices and two of us ate like kings for $17! Fried rice is excellent and the pork cabbage was yummy. The full plate lunch let us try a bunch of different foods. They're only open... More

Maybe ordering tempura fish from a cafeteria style restaurant is a bad idea, especially when I realized it wasn't really under a heat lamp, but it was terribly cold and greasy. Still, other options looked VERY GOOD and HOT and there are always locals eating there so you know it has to be good and we just got one bad... More
