I honestly cannot see how this eating establishment can get more than one star. We stopped by Cafe 100 in Hilo on our way back from a visit to the Volcano. The food was extremely tasteless and horrible. Processed cheese, stale bread, no flavor and poor service. An extremely rude man behind the counter pulled a 'Shanaynay face' on the... More

We visited the Big Island in October, and while on the Hilo side stopped at Cafe 100 for dinner. We had a pretty large group of people but the food came out relatively quickly and the staff was nice, even when we changed our orders a couple of times. If you like Loco Moco this is the place to get... More

Cafe 100 was recommended by a local friend so I checked it out for an early mid-week lunch. It's a walk-up, clean, unpretentious take-out place on a fairly busy street with plenty of parking and 5 or 6 picnic tables outside if you can't wait to get home to eat (like me). There were a half dozen people in front... More

I got the katsu and it was delicious. My dad got the loco moco and he thought it was delicious. DO NOT get the fried chicken. My mother got the fried chicken and it was not good. The portions are pretty big so you should probably share if possible.

We were visiting the island and a friend that lived there for years told me this was a 'must' to go to. Every variety of Loco Moco you can think of and crazy, reasonable prices!!

After stopping at Rainbow and Pe'epe'e Falls in the area, we had lunch at Café 100. We enjoyed the outdoor only seating and sampled the $3.50 Loco Moco. This café claims to have invented the famous high-carb, high-protein dish and peach-pineapple turnovers. This Loco Moco tasted more like Salisbury Steak than a burger. It was better than the one at... More

If you want to taste a fair dinkum locomoco, Cafe 100 is the place. The owners family mottos is patrons must have a full stomach. They are true to their words. Filled with tasty food and good service. A range of food to choose from. Drop by for a part of Hilo's history and flavor. Enjoy!

We actually found this place on accident. So glad we did. It's definitely a busy place, and I can see why! Get one of the variations on the Loco moco. You won't regret it, but you may need a nap later. :)

This is a drive in style restaurant with good, local style comfort food. They offer mainland style dishes as well as local favorites. I have been told that they did not invent the loco moco but they have taken it to an artform with MANY variations. If I recall correctly., the founder was a nisei war hero from WWII. The... More
