We went twice a month for 20 years but now it's so bad and the portions are so small that we don't bother anymore

Was seated outside which wouldn't be an issue except staff kept walking past us with dishes on their way to the kitchen. Harsh fluorescent lighting , zero ambiance. Ordered iced teas , very little ice, so just cool teas. Again not an issue except staff ignored us passing by over and over. Never got a refill or a concern We... More

Went for dinner last week. We haven't been here for a few years as the service/food has never been the same since they left Waiakea Villas. Our server was quick and attentive. The sesame chicken was a favorite at the old place. It was not over cooked and dry like my last visit, but it was a mix of cold... More

I ordered their combo benito special, and oh my. I had shrimp and veggie termpura, chicken teriyaki, beef teriyaki, sashimi, rice, soup, and pickles. The tempura was perfect and hot when delivered to the table. The chicken and beef teriyaki were my two choices to add to the dish. I could have chosen chicken katsu or sesame chicken, tonkatsu or... I always have the Special Salad with Sashimi. Sashimi and salad are very fresh. They open right when they say they are going to open. People are waiting outside for the door to open. Very popular place.

We visited on a Friday evening and were able to be seated immediately at an outside table. Inside eating required a wait. The menu consists of a wide selection of Japanese foods including, but not limited to, sushi/sashimi, cooked seafood (oysters, scallops, fresh fish, shrimp), chicken, beef and tofu, bento boxes, teriyaki, tempura., chicken cats, tonkatsu...Combo dinner meals with choice... This place has amazing service. Their food is completely unparalleled. I usually do not ever pass up a chance to have red meat but I'll skip it every time in this restaurant. Their ahi sashimi is like butter. Their broiled and grilled fish is unreal. I absolutely love their sautéed eggplant. This is from a man that would probably have scurvy... More

We visited this restaurant with locals. The miso soup was tasty, and I had a shrimp curry with white rice. The shrimp was tasty, and there was lots of curry sauce with chunks of vegetables. I had a good-sized doggie bag to take home. My husband had sesame chicken and I did taste it and it was good. The price... More

This year I opted for the teriyaki steak and ahi sashimi lunch plate, which came with a very good Miso soup. My sashimi was perfection to the palate, just like last year. And our marvelous waiter was very helpful. So long dear friend. See you next time.
