To make it clear from the outset, this is not a diner or restaurant. You can buy either a poke bowl or different types of seafood mixes to take away. The stuff is fresh and tasty, so nothing to criticise here, but the place looks...horrible and service is mediocre at best. No atmosphere. Given the prices they charge, you could definitely expect more.More

Heard that this was THE place to go for the best Poke on Big Island and the queue outside certainly confirmed that! Amazing selection of seafood choices and efficiently run place. We tried ahi, octopus and salmon - all delicious.

This is worth the stop. Best poke I have had anywhere. I eat a lot of fresh seafood but this was off the dock fresh - make sure to stop, get a combo or share with a friend!

This was supposed to be amazing poke. Maybe NYC has spoiled me, but I would strongly disagree. We tried several of their choices and all 4 of us were underwhelmed.

This was the best poke I have ever had. We are from Seattle so no stranger to fresh seafood but this poke blew my mind. Get the spicy ahi and don’t forget the lobster salad. Worth the drive over to Hilo YOU WILL NOT REGRET...THIS.More

We had a lot of poke on Big Island and this blew all the others out of the water. The ahi and salmon are incredibly fresh. They also have amazing ikura that you can find by the drinks.

Stopped by to get some poke for lunch and there was a line formed outside which moved a little slow. 4 people allowed inside due to covid. They have a muffled intercom system to call you inside but no one could understand what it was...saying so it caused delays. They take your temperature or you can do it yourself if they call you inside and no one is there. By the time I got to the counter, one of the items I wanted was sold out. I wanted the honey garlic ahi and Hawaiian ahi (I only could see the spicy option for honey garlic). I asked them to confirm they were out of the regular honey garlic since I did not see it, but the lady didn't hear me asking and proceeded to put the spicy one in my box before I said it was fine. I repeated myself and replied it was out and I agreed to try the spicy one anyway. Hard to hear because everyone is masked and muffled, but the employees also didn't seem very friendly. In addition to the 2 pokes, the plate includes 3 scoops rice and 2 sides - I got the li hing pineapple and ocean salad. I checked in on yelp to get a free juice drink. I would have preferred a non spicy option, but it was still delicious (it was actually pretty spicy). This was our first time trying pineapple with li hing, which was the perfect amount of sweet to go with the savory ahi and salty seaweed salad. The whole thing costed $17, which was enough for 2 people to share.More

Once you've had Poke from Suisan Fish Market nothing else will ever measure up. It was so delicious. The location was great to take it to go and eat in the nearby park.

Hands down the best poke we tried in Hawaii (even compared to Ono Poke in Honolulu and Da Poke Shop in Kona). I have lived in Japan in the past, and have had a fair amount of high quality fish, and Suisan is hands down...had the best poke I've ever tried. The ahi tuna cuts were large, flavored so simply but beautifully, and the fish quality was incredibly fatty and buttery. We died and went to heaven trying this poke. The spicy ahi tuna was our favorite, but every dish they had down to the edamame and sides, were incredible. These folks really understand flavors, fish quality, and beauty in simplicity with high quality. Expect a wait, and go early because they do completely sell out in the afternoon.More

We enjoyed the traditional ahi poke and a soy-glazed salmon poke while overlooking the water at the nearby park-- what a lovely experience! Everything was fresh and super satisfying.

Went around 12 for lunch and they were already out of hamachi and salmon, so we opted for spicy ahi and honey garlic ahi. For sides we got spicy crab salad and edamame. My husband and I shared a 2 entree 2 side plate and...this was plenty for us. The spicy ahi was amazing as was the crab salad. My hubby loved the honey garlic ahi. Just wish they would plan better and have more hamachi and salmon prepared especially seeing as they are incredibly popular options!More

We are on a multi-island poke' quest (see our other posts) and are wondering if we can continue. Fresh, high quality fish and perfect seasonings. There could be no better place than this, Also had some room for ono - wow. And if the highest...quality wasn't enough, the prices are the lowest we have seen. Take it from someone who has pursued the ultimate poke' in many places. If you are also a fan, you must, absolutely must come here. Mahalo, MahaloMore

This famous fish market always serves freshest fish. Shipment of fish is delivered at the back of the store. which is directly at the bay. Poke is a must, and we can pick any variety. They all are very fresh and delicious. Because we did...not immediately, the rice turned hard.More
