After moving to Hilo I figured it would be quite awhile till I had a perfect croissant, but then my daughter told me about Moonstruck. Their quiches and croissants are simply amazing. Hands down among the very best I've had anywhere in the world. This...little treasure is not to be missed.More

We stumbled on Moonstruck as we were trying to find a breakfast place. Paul from Paul’s in Hilo recommended this place. Once we ordered and sat down, I admired the lovely space with a Parisian/ European vibe. I had the very delectable Frangipane Croissant -...nothing like I have ever tasted before. And that is saying something as I am a baked good lover. My husband had a pear tart which he loved. We also had the Florentine quiche - yum. We felt the flavors were perfect. Just the right amount of sweet and salt. We would be regulars if we lived here. Jackie, the owner/ baker, had a moment’s break and was wonderful to talk to. She shared a little bit of her life journey and wisdom 🌺 I highly recommend a visit if you are in Hilo.More

Heard alot about this place so went with the family to try it out. We ordered several pastries and slices of cake to share. Everything was pretty good, but i liked the chocolate croissant, chocolate cake, lili koi cheesecake and salmon quiche the most. The...taste of the food was just right, without being too sweet or rich. A wonderful brunch overall, and would definitely return again when im back in Hilo.More

This is a very small place with a few tables. It was full on the Saturday I visited. I was looking for bread but they don’t sell bread. Got some desserts instead. They were good although a bit pricey, but this is Hawai’i. They sell...coffee and although I did not try it, it was probably good too.More

Desserts aren’t overly sweet. Fresh and crisp croissants! Hours vary so If you happen to pass by and they are open.... you’re in luck!

We love their croissants, chocolate mousse and fruit tarts. The quality is authentic, but they are on the small side and expensive for their size. It's best to call ahead for the daily hours because they are not always open when the hours sign says.

I wanted to try some desserts here based on the great TripAdvisor reviews, and I was not disappointed! I ordered a slice of lilikoi cheesecake and a double chocolate espresso bar with raspberry and both were absolutely delicious and satisfied my sweet tooth. I am...so glad I stopped here!More

Amazing taste and presentation. We've loved everything that we've tried; you can't go wrong. I especially love her buttery frangipane croissants and my mom is addicted to her black forest cake. Her baking skill and expertise are reflected in everything she makes. She's a tier...above the rest and we'll definitely miss her when she moves.More

After traveling all over France and enjoying croissants at the renowned Hungarian Pastry Shop on Amsterdam Ave. near Columbia U. in NYC, I've never had better croissants than at Moonstruck. (What a wonderful place to have in downtown Hilo in the middle of the Pacific...Ocean.) My fave is frangipani, which is much like the classic almond croissant, but if I go twice in one week—an incomparable treat, although not good for the waistline!—I have the chocolate. Whoever reported there's only a drop of chocolate has never eaten one here. With every bite, copious amounts of melted chocolate end up on your face and fingers, whether you're a child or an adult. And Jackie, the pastry chef, and Jo, her friend and assistant, make everyone feel welcome and at home. The coffee's delicious, too.More

This is a true patisserie in the great tradition of fine French shops. Delicate pastries, mouth-watering quiche, and to-die-for desserts. Every time we go, there are new surprises, and I'm not sure what a previous reviewer thought they were eating, but it wasn't one of...the chocolate croissants! They are filled with mouth-watering chocolate and dusted with confectioners sugar and almonds. A true treat for any pastry lover, and that doesn't begin to cover the desserts! Try the Moonlight Sonata Cheesecake. Heaven.More

Most likely not, as we are typically in South Korea that time of year. I'm sorry for the bad news.
