Was not expecting much when we walked in but was very pleasently surprised with the quality of food we all ordered. everyone loved it.

We drove way out of our way to revisit Kohala Coffee Mill only to find a sign on the door that they decided to close 2 hours early! VERY disappointed. We have enjoyed them so much in the past.

We crossed the street after having lunch at the BAMBOO RESTAURANT to have ICE CREAM at the KOHALA COFFEE MILL. We got there at one minute before 3 and we were the very, very LADT customers of the day And were we ever lucky!!! We...sampled 2 different flavors and both of us chose the MEXICAN CHOCOLATE. This was such a unique tasting chocolate. Very rich. The color of milk chocolate— but not the same taste at all. Would have loved to take a gallon back with us. But no...too far to drive to get back from where we are staying. Now — what was very interesting to us is the lack of “ business sense”. For some reason, the 3 staff decided to close at 3 o’clock. We were there for 15 minutes eating and enjoying our very yummy waffle cones while 12 people stopped by to ask if they were opened to sell ice cream. No was the answer these “customers” were given. We just thought that on a holiday weekend with lots of tourists driving to Hawi on a warm day, ice cream seemed like a good pit stop and good business for the place. Lost businessMore

We stopped here for coffee and a snack during a morning driving tour of the northwest Big Island. We shared a toasted ham and cheese sandwich on the sidewalk outside. Everything was great, and the views of the charming tiny town of Hawi were delightful....Perfect place for a mid-morning break.More

Hidden on the main highway through Hawi this little gem is so good. We continue to make a special drive up for breakfast of steamed egg on a bagel. Great Kona coffee too! Such a pretty drive up is an added bonus!

We drove up here specifically to get some Tropical Dreams ice cream. There was not much of a line so service was very quick. The ice cream is expensive but it it good. You have to find parking on the street. There are not many...tables inside. There are some outside but in the rain, not the place to sit.More

A must stop in Hawi. Great place for lunch or a treat and a late afternoon cup of holy crap I still have to drive back to Kona.

Cool vibe at this coffee stop. They do have tropical dreams ice cream ! Coffee is excellent. Nice bike ride destination, the treats and coffee make it worth the effort!

I liked the feel of the place. Ice cream served fast and a huge amount (it was $8+ for a double cone but they gave me at least a pint of ice cream in there!). Good quality ice cream and unusual flavors that actually seemed...differentiated from standard flavors, kudos on that. Didn't try the coffee, but it's probably good. The vibe is laid back. They have 4-5 tables in front (outside) and a few inside also. We saw backpackers leaving their packs outside and then making friends and getting hitch rides, that's the type of atmosphere here, if it helps describe for you. Highly suggested stopping spot after the Pololu Valley hike!More
