The people who work here are kind and accommodating. The restaurant itself is kind of cute and fun. The food was just ok. Overdressed salads, uninviting plating and the taste was like eating leftovers. It wasn't terrible just not inventive or appetizing. Since there is almost no competition in the tiny town of Hawi- I'm sure it does well. If... More

Great food and atmosphere, popular with locals as well as tourists. I had pork, my wife had fish, both portions were generous and the food was delicious. Service was great and after the meal we enjoyed looking at the art work in the attached gallery.

This was my second time here and it was just as good as I remembered. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was fabulous. The staff and owner were fun to talk to. We are here for my dad's 80th birthday and are having a blast. If you are ever in HavI the Bamboo is the place to eat.

Last night my family had the pleasure of dining at the Bamboo Restaurant in Hawi, I truly cannot say enough positive things about this little treasure nestled in the quaint village of Hawi. The aroma in the restaurant was enticing, the food was incredible, everything was locally grown, the staff was very warm and friendly, and there was even a... More

Doesn't worth the price...very expensive for bad fast food restaurant... Unfresh food and not well cooked. Huge regret because it's not cheap for the bad quality... Better to avoid.

Very bad experience for our lunch time. We ordered a "bamboo salad with fresh fish" and a "bamboo burger". Such a disappointment! We paid 17us dollars for a small piece of fish, 1 thin slice tomatoe (not even a joke) and 3 micro macadamia nuts...and 98 % of green letuce without any dressing. And the bamboo burger at 14 us... Folks, THIS is what makes my work a delight! No, really ... 99.9% of our customers are so delightful and fun, that it's the JERKS who make us laugh. Check out Larry's reviews: every one is either very poor or terrible. He doesn't like ANYPLACE. But, let's go from the bottom up: 1) The ladies bathroom has a window that... More

The Bamboo has a quirky decor which is perfect for the town of Hawi with all its art-sy character. The food was very good and the greeter and the wait staff were very friendly. I had the eggs benedict with ham and it was very good. I'd recommend this as a lunch stop in Hawi. The drive beyond Hawi ends... More

Thank you. We have encountered mediocre food, uninterested and rude service (including a manager who after we paid a bill brought it back to us and asked for a tip after terrible service) and outrageous prices. You are different. You set the standard, we loved the friendly waitress and staff. Enjoyed the drinks especially the Mai Tai's and the food.... More

If you are tired of choking on $20 sandwiches at your resort head to Hawi on the north coast of the big island. This is an eclectic town with a funky little vibe and Bamboo is perfect here! Reasonably priced but extra good. This town is a must do and this restaurant is a home run!

We traveled up the coast just to try this restaurant. The food was good but the whole experience was tainted by their soda policy. I ordered a soda and they brought me a glass of soda with about 6 - 8 ounces in it, not even a can of soda worth. I didn't think much about it because I knew... More

Oops. The soda glass is 14 oz and the water glass is 16 oz. Sorry Qcchis, your depth perception is askew. We've found that people who expect free soda refills are: A) probably drinking too much soda and will die sooner than necessary; and B) are used to eating in chain restaurants. We are just a single restaurant so we... More
