We found this restaurant on Yelp - 5 stars! They are known for their pork lau lau and they did not disappoint. I bought a frozen pack to bring back on the plane - it is that good! However, this is a family owned and operated restaurant so please be respectful - it is like you are home. They are... More

Not only are the prices reasonable but the food was sooo good. We had LauLau. So good. My 9 year old even liked it. That's saying a lot. She even ate the leaves! Excellent and friendly customer service! There isn't a lot of space to sit and eat. It's kind of set up like family style (two long tables). It's... More

My 17 year old daughter and I ate here after visiting the National Park and a coffee farm. It's got a tiny 6 car parking lot and looks like you're eating in someone's house, but oh my is the food good! There were only three options for lunch, Pork or Chicken Laulau or Kalua Pork with cabbage. I had the... More

We had been snorkeling at Two Step and we're looking for authentic Hawaiian food and I'd say this place has it. It is family owned and one of the matriarchs served us. People skills, no. Cooking ability, yes. The convo went something like this. Me (110 lbs): is the lau lau pig very fatty? Her: deadpan face Me: is it... More

Driving by this place I would not have stopped at all. But so glad we found good reviews on yelp shortly after doing a ton of morning snorkeling. The ladies of super J were probably the most friendly we have encountered on our trip with bustling laugher resonating through the walls. The laulau experience was fantastic and ask to see... More

This was the first time we had LauLau. It is amazing. We all loved it!! As others may have said the shop isn't the Ritz, but the food is real good!!

After snorkeling at Two Step, which by the way was excellent, we stopped for some local fare. Two women were cooking with such pleasure and happiness. They fixed us a plate to share of everything they cook. It was amazing! And only $13 for both my husband and I! What could be better? Nothing.

We went to no frills eatery after visiting Pu Uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park as it was recommended by Yelp. This is a very small place...maybe 5 or 6 tables...right off the main road with a parking lot for 8 cars or so. This IS the place for authentic Hawaiian food! You wait in line and give your order... We are so glad we decided to stop at this small restaurant on the side of the road near Capt Cook Bay. We had just finished snorkeling at Two Steps and we were starving... Driving north we decided to stop at Suprr J's. There was a line out the door and mom was wrapping pork in Taro leaves ready to... More

No touristy luau food here. The laulau made on the premises for local folks, hot in the steamer and ready to eat or frozen for home consumption. The best ingredients lovingly produced by hand. Better get an extra dozen to eat later. Don't forget the poi and lomi salmon.
