Family run place right off the highway. It appeared to be very popular with the locals. The women who were operating the business were incredibly friendly. We had both the chicken and the pork lau lau and both were good but the pork was the best. At $3/each this was a huge amount of tasty meat. Be adventurous and give... More

This is a family run business. It's pretty much a take out for Hawaiian food in a humble setting. Their specialty is laulau, which is a pork belly meat, with a tiny piece of butterfish wrapped in taro leaves and then wrapped in ti leaves. It's delicious, and should be a must try for anyone visiting and wanting to try... More

We stopped here in our way back from Volcano. Very easy to miss off the highway but unforgettable food. Homemade and authentic, this was the best Hawaiian food we had on the island while we were here. Incredibly nice people and family run.

I had this on my list of places to try but actually almost drove by as the outside is VERY misleading as to what you will find inside. Walked in and was told to just have a seat which took us back for a minute, then asked what they had on menu and was told "LauLau" - of which they... More

I had watched a clip about this place on the Food Network, so I had an idea of what to expect: genuine Hawaiian food, made out of a family's kitchen. The owner was tolerant of our ignorance as we selected a variety of things to try. We ordered a pork lau lau, chicken lau lau, macaroni salad, rice, lomi salmon,... More

One of the best meals we've had. Worth the trip. Everything is wonderful, but the pig with cabbage is one step above that. Make sure you have their house hot sauce, peppers in water. Absolutely a SUPER place to eat, and cheap. 2 people for the combo, $12!

This little, bright yellow, hole in the wall is worth the trip! We walked in, great welcome, asked us what we wanted, we paused, she said, "Sit down. Let me feed you." She asked how hungry we were so she could decide what to fix us, even asked about allergies. We enjoyed a great Hawaian dinner for $20 including drinks.... More

Stopped here on the way home from Volcano National Park on a recommendation from locals. Was not disappointed. Great food and wonderful people. Not great ambiance, but a must try.

My wife and I ate there three days in a row! LauLau was wonderful but what really made the experience was the staff. They treated us like we were enjoying a meal in their home.
