I read about this trifecta. It was as advertised. The steak was extremely good. Be aware that the soda bread comes in first place followed by the soup. I am in no way undermining the steak. It was the best I've had in town.

As we were seated to our table, there was no attempt to shut the doors of the main dining-room where there was a banquet in full swing. Our waiter was attentive. Service though no fault of our server was very slow. Our drinks took a...More

In town for admitted student days at the University of Wyoming. Used to frequent this place years ago. The exterior looks a little tired and certainly had my son concerned. The interior has changed a lot since my last visit, probably 10 years now. The...More

Description
The Cavalryman Steakhouse is located on the grounds of historic Fort Sanders, established in July of 1866. In its heyday, the Fort Sanders Military Reservation protected the Overland and Lodgepole Creek emigrant routes, the Denver-Salt Lake City stage route, and the construction crews for the Union Pacific Railroad. Ruins of the fort’s powder keg are visible just southwest of the restaurant’s main building. The Cavalryman building was constructed in 1925 to serve as the clubhouse for the local country club. Just to the east, remnants of the nine-hole golf course can still be found.
