We ate here while in town to fish. The steak was excellent, as was the French Onion Soup. Our server, Jenna, did an outstanding job!

high price for very little food i.e. crab legs. Had to wait to be seated when only 4 tables sat. Waitress nice but not enough staff for good experience.

We visit Laramie once a year for the Senior Games. This is our second time to the Cavalryman steakhouse, but it will not be our last! It is so nice to find a pleasant, local restaurant with such charm. It is not the fanciest place,...More

Haven't been here in twelve years, and.... 1. Spruced up interior, rustic western ambience 2. Very friendly wait staff, accomodating but now pushy 3. Good range of menu items (we'd been warned by a local that it might be overpriced. We found the prices reasonable)...More

Description
Exciting News! Cavalryman has been a Wyoming landmark since 1970! With our partner ANB Bank, Cavalryman is now revitalizing its destination property and business for the next 50 years! During the remodels, starting next week, our famous Wyoming dinner service will be available Thursday through Saturday nights only. The restaurant will open at other times for special events and private parties – Please call! The Cavalryman Steakhouse is located on the grounds of historic Fort Sanders, established in July of 1866. In its heyday, the Fort Sanders Military Reservation protected the Overland and Lodgepole Creek emigrant routes, the Denver-Salt Lake City stage route, and the construction crews for the Union Pacific Railroad. Ruins of the fort’s powder keg are visible just southwest of the restaurant’s main building. The Cavalryman building was constructed in 1925 to serve as the clubhouse for the local country club. Just to the east, remnants of the nine-hole golf course can still be found.
