What a great find off the beaten track. Appeared to be a locals breakfast spot which is always a great sign. I have nothing bad to say. Great menu selections. Decor very welcoming, friendly staff, prompt service, delicious food. Indoor and outdoor dining, Cafe seating...also available. Food fresh with striking bright colors. Great for breakfast/brunch. Many taking to-go orders which looked nicely packaged. If one suggestion, appeared they could use an additional batista as he had a lot of orders to fill.More
The day before, we had stopped at the Persephone Bakery for breakfast. And left very displeased.
This day we decided to eat at the Virginian. Unfortunately, it was inexplicably closed.
So, we scrambled and went to The Picnic, not realizing that it shared ownership with...the Persephone Bakery.
Rather than leave we ordered. Mistake! Actually Picnic made Perephone look Good!
We do not recommend Picnic!More
Love this place, warm and inviting!
Staff is always so friendly, we are local and it nice to come into a place that calls you by your name. Love the specialty coffees, the smoothie bowl is sooooo good. Pastries, Lunch and Breakfast everything’s good. You...can’t go wrong.More
This out of the way spot is so yummy. Picnic is a sister restaurant to Persephone and they carry the baked goods and bread. The menu is slightly different with lots of yummy sandwiches, soups and salads. Highly recommend going out of your way to...this great little placeMore
Excellent find south of the tourist crush of downtown Jackson. Cool little coffee joint with excellent cafe food and sublime baked goods. We had their avocado toast, egg breakfast, and their breakfast burrito. All were amazing.
Have placed to-go orders several times and always amazing! Can highly recommend their breakfast burrito and their Cuban sandwich. But the real highlight is their pasty selection, especially their Kouign-amann. They sell out, so I've only managed to get one about half of the time,...but it's so buttery and flaky and perfect.More
