My wife and I had drinks before seeing a show at the adjacent Pink Garter Theatre! It was a great place to "pre-party" and was a nice change of pace.

Sub Rosa at The Rose, what an amazing concept! Six of us sat at the counter in the kitchen and watched Chefs David Wright and Addison Fleming perform culinary magic. It was like observing intricate works of art being created before our eyes. Every plate of the delicious twelve course tasting menu -- some very tiny -- hit a high... More

More of a lounge atmosphere. Frozen pineapple and other cocktail we ordered were presented very well. Not much volume in the frozen pineapple. Cocktail prices are equivalent to other decent bars in Jackson.

We read that The Rose was a cocktail bar created by David Kaplan and Alex Day, renowned for bars in NYC and LA, so gave it a try. We hit it between busy times of the day so it was quiet. The staff was friendly, the space cool and club-like and I discovered that their house bourbon was Wild Turkey... More

Dim lights, crystal chandeliers, black ceiling with upbeat music playing in the background and the embossed wall paper greet your eye as you walk into the dining area. The well stocked bar and glistening table tops invite you as you slide into high backed old-hollywood style curved booths or pull up a stool at the high tops. The service is... More

The rose did a 4 course tasting menu with wine pairings for our large party of 16 and it was fabulous. All very farm to table and unusual. Every item was delicious and unexpected. One note is that the portions are small, so although we were satisfied, be prepared it is not a big heavy meal. We went a little... More

Incredible meal. Had Chef Rene Stein's 4 course meal. Every bite was off the charts. Started with one of the best salad dressings I have ever tasted. Next came an light salmon dish. The entree was a goulash that was like no other I've ever tasted. My wife had the Idaho trout - she loved it. We had to try... More

When we walked in I was a little surprised at how small and dark the restaurant was but that was the only negative of the evening. I tried the summer salad, beef checks and triple chocolate dessert. Everything was delicious. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and helped us select the wines. I would definitely eat there again. Don't let the... More

Description
The Rose is a food and beverage destination, learned of our collective past, here in the present, with an eye toward our evolving future. Initially founded as a cocktail bar at the hands of Dave Kaplan and Alex Day or Proprietor's LLC (Death & Co., The Walker Inn) the Rose took an integrated step with the introduction of Chef Rene Stein (Amador, Seasonal). A focus on nuance, detail, and sustainability spread from the plate, to the glass, and through each limb of the search for how and why we consume. We believe in the story of the individual, be it the winemaker, farmer, diner, server, or barfly, and in our role as host to that progress we are all an equal part of. Ingredients are sourced locally, dinnerware made by local artist Jenny Dowd, wines are variations of Natural and Sustainable, and all cocktails are fashioned with fresh, hand made ingredients.
