We stopped here for dinner one night and had a nice meal. My wife enjoyed her bowl of chili. I ordered a good cup of corn chowder plus the Highwayman, which is their version of a club sandwich. This thing was HUGE and could never be consumed in one sitting. I ate as much as I could, along with their very good fries. We came back for breakfast the next day with my wife trying a bagel with cream cheese and liked it. But they were slow bringing her cream for her coffee. I got the steak and eggs and it was very tasty. However, I had to ask twice for a glass of orange juice and requested some milk when my meal was ready and the server asked me if I wanted it right away.

On a hot day in August, the ice water and iced tea tasted great. Interesting history and nicely decorated with silver dollars literally everywhere. Angel, our server was very friendly and helpful. But he was working by himself and was overloaded, so service suffered a little. I tried the Elk Sliders and thought they were very good, as were the crispy onion rings that came with them. My wife had the Shoshone Chicken Sandwich and it was good as well. The side of sweet potato fries was good, but we like ours with cinnamon butter. We thought the prices were reasonable, we got all that for $40, before tax and tip. Glad we had lunch here, we will probably stop later for a drink.

We first went to the Silver Dollar with some family members because of a friend's recommendation. It ultimately became our meeting place for the entire trip to the Jackson area. We mostly were there for lunch although we found it nice in the afternoons. We did stop in once for dinner or just drinks. For our group, we often did the lunch special, which was soup and half a sandwich, or burgers. There is a full bar that is cool to check out all on its own because of the namesake silver dollars, but the food itself should not be overlooked. We found the music to be great, and not too loud and eclectic enough to keep the group engaged. The corn chowder is good, and it is one of their signature items, but for us, our favorites were the meatloaf and the elk sliders. The service was solid and the staff friendly. Obviously there are a lot of tourists here butthere was also a fair number of locals too. At a minimum we think folks should stop in for a drink, but you'llget more fun if you stay for more.

We went on a Friday night and picked this place because it was the only place we could find that didn’t have a wait. When we walked in and saw almost the whole restaurant open - we should have known. On the walk to our table there was a horrible fish smell. Again, we should have known. All I wanted was a beef fillet but in order to get that you have to also get shrimp. So I passed on that and got a sandwich. My daughter got the quesadillas and wanted just beef no onions/peppers but the waitress said they had to come all together - so she ended with just cheese. My husband got the fish - circle back to the fishy smell. This was by far the fishiest fish he’s ever had and he is NOT a picky eater but took two bites and was done. We had complete eaten our entire meal, had our plates cleaned up and our waitress came and asked if we got our foods keeping in mind we were maybe one of three tables. The only positive was the bus lady - she kept our water full and cleaned plates immediately.
We should have just wanted for another restaurant - very disappointed.

We were very disappointed with our dinner, we had eaten here a few years ago and had an enjoyable meal then but not this time. I had the chicken tenders which were insipid and did not look appetising, like something from a fast food joint. As this bar & grill is part of the Wort Hotel we expected much better. The waitress didn’t bother to ask if our food was ok or refill our water, just brought the check.

My husband and I thought the menu sounded good, but we were wrong. We both ordered cheeseburgers and fries. The waitress rolled her eyes when we ordered. I got a frozen "Buba burger" that was cold and not cooked well. The fries were stone cold as well, most likely due to not being served in a timely manner. Drinks sat empty for a while, and only two tables were in the station around us. We didn't tip high due to the service, 13%. When our bill came through on the credit card statement, we saw that Brittany M. had changed our tip to 23%! My husband always writes the tip amount down on his copy, so we know it was altered. I would NOT recommend eating here at all. This charge is being contested.

We booked the Christmas Day Buffet at the Silver Dollar Bar and Grill for our stay in Jackson from the UK. I phoned to book early November but was too early and was given a date the booking window would open. I rang on this day first thing and got booked in for 3pm. A week or so later I called again to confirm my booking. I was informed the per head price and that seafood was also available and that there was also a child’s price/buffet. I was not told about time constraints or when the buffet closed. We turned up to our meal and we were shown into the restaurant area. There were no obvious Christmas decorations or anything to make you aware of the special day apart from the Christmas tree we had passed in reception between the bar and grill. On sitting down we were told we could go straight through to the buffet but I asked for drinks first. I noticed that we were one of only 3 small groups within the restaurant. Once the drinks arrived we went to the buffet. The selection was fairly good with both meat and veg. I noted a couple of empty server trays but assumed they would be refilled. On sitting down to eat it was clear that some of the food was quite cold. We assumed this was perhaps bad timing on our part , thinking fresh hot items may have come out in the meantime. After a while we returned to the buffet, a couple for seconds, the others for dessert. The food situation hadn’t improved in fact some server trays had been removed. I then heard what I assumed to be a supervisor telling staff they could help themselves to the food for snacks if they wanted to and this was repeated to several members of staff. We sat back down only to be told that if we wanted anymore food we would have to go to the buffet as it was closing. This was about 4-4.15. We were now the only people in the restaurant and so asked for the bill. This for 5 of us was around $500. I asked to see the manager and I explained my disappointment. He said that “Traditionally “ people understood that they would have an hour and that it finished at 4. I explained to him I had come from the UK and was not aware of the restaurants Christmas traditions as in all of my phone call’s nobody had mentioned it. The manager barely engaged in conversation did not apologise other than to say that they maybe dropped the ball at the time of booking! He then said he would reduce the bill by 20% not including drinks. Very disappointed I had sold this venue/event to my family due to a visit I made to Jackson years ago, telling them how fantastic the Wort hotel and its bar and grill was. I wouldn’t go there again and I wouldn’t recommend it either. Maybe they just don’t do Christmas very well?

Not even close to 4 of 5 stars. The restaurant maitre d’ did explain that they were short staff, as many restaurants do just now, so slow serving was indeed expected as it was. The soup was gloppy with hard cheese on top witch no spoon could penetrate and had a poor consistency and flavor, It went downhill from there and was not cheap. Maybe the chef’s position was then unfilled. The are better places in Jackson but the ones we attempted were jammed. Maybe that this one had space should have been seen as a warning.

If I could rate it less than zero, I would. Service and food was terrible. It wasn't busy, but the only time we saw our waiter was when he brought the wine and took our order. Never came back to check on us or poor more wine. He was waiting on several other tables around us, and visited all of those tables multiple times.
I ordered the ribs, and they were inedible. I got the feeling they were prepared months ago and frozen. They were extremely tough and the taste was terrible. We told people on the way out not to waste their money, so at least we saved them the grief!
I'm sure the manager, Jim Waldrop?, will leave one of those responses apologizing for the food and service and hoping we will give them another visit. Don't bother wasting your time.

Ordered the French onion soup and Elk Sliders with onion rings. The soup was nearly flavorless, lacking the beef base, which underpins this dish. Meanwhile, the elk was indeed "smashed," resulting in a thin patty but not unexpected, given that it is a slider. However, the flavor of the elk is lost amongst the red onion, lettuce, tomato, and potato bun; onion rings were standard, with half the batch being overdone and greasy. Two sliders, a bowl and cup of French onion soup and two waters = $40.28 before tip. All in all, this was a forgettable experience.

Being early May, we were promptly seated for our mid-afternoon meal.
The facility has a comfortable contemporary western ambiance.
Our server was efficient and attentive.
We shared a bowl of corn chowder, and the elk gyros. Having been recommended by one of the staff at the Elk Refuge Visitor's Center, we were so glad we ordered the corn chowder; as it was some of the best either one of us has had.
The elk gyros was also quite good; being tender and flavorful.
We concluded the meal with the peach & huckleberry cobbler; a nicely indulgent ending to a satisfying dining experience.
If we return to the area, another meal here will certainly be included on our agenda.

We had a wonderful meal. We all had steaks they were cooked differently and all were served together and cooked just right. The waitress was from Croatia and very very professional. The whole night was delightful. The next time we are in Jackson we will certainly return for another wonderful meal

It was suggested that we visit the Wort Hotel, so we made a dinner reservation at the Silver Dollar Bar and Grill using Resy. We were seated right away which surprised us because the bar was packed and every other restaurant in town had a very long wait.
We were surprised to realize that the Grill has a very different menu than the Bar. My kids were thrilled with their basic choices, but my husband and I only a handful of entrees to choose from $30-$60. I asked for a burger for my thirteen old, and our server said he would make an exception. I ordered the trout, and my husband got the ribs. They were easily the toughest ribs he has ever had, and he has had a lot. He could not get the meat off the bone, and later said that he probably should have sent them back, but he doesn’t do that. My trout was ok.
We chose to extend grace because it was clear there were staffing issues. These are tough times.
We wished we went to the bar that menu looks great with many more choices and even had outdoor seating. Our mistake. My guess is the bar doesn’t take reservations? Just don’t make the same mistake we did. The bar and grill are different. Bar appears to be tons better!
Then at 9:30 pm my phone rang, and it was the manager. We hadn’t paid for our meal. We gave our credit card, but our new server hadn’t scanned it? We signed a bill, but it was a hotel room statement, I guess.
Overall, it was not a great experience. We would not recommend the grill, but we would suggest the bar.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We apologize for your recent experience at the Silver Dollar Bar and Grill. Yes, the Bar & Grill are slightly different and the bar does not accept reservations but is first come, first serve. We also pride ourselves on our food and service but it sounds like we missed the mark during your visit. We sincerely apologize and we will continue to train our teams to ensure this standard is continued.

Not a great lunch here. Part of it is just that Jackson in the summer is quite the experience, and not our favorite. Too snobby and rude. At this restaurant we got poor service, mediocre food and were surrounded by loud and obnoxious guests.

We went to dinner in the Silver dollar pub in Jackson Hole. The food was terrible. The spare ribs we ordered were inedible, even with a steak knife they could not be cut. The burgers we ordered rare, they were overcooked and dry. When we complained to the floormanager Gerrit he didn't took our grievances seriously. Not really professional.
The Silver dollar bar in Jackson Hole is a toerist trap...
Not worth eating there...
