About
Please book reservations online or call us for available times as COVID-19 restrictions have limited our seating. We are taking all precautions seriously and are doing our best to ensure the safety of our guests and staff. The Blue Lion was built as a residential home in the late 1930's, in 1974 it became The Tourist Trap restaurant and then in 1976 The Blue Lion. I bought it in 1978 after graduating college. The Blue Lion has evolved a lot since the early days. We continue to add and change dishes semi-annually. The lamb, elk and fresh fish are our biggest sellers. There was a restaurant in southern California where I grew up that served mud pie and my mother made a home made hot fudge sauce

This was a very lovely restaurant in an old house. The food and service were impeccable. I had the scampi, lobster with linguini. The fish was extremely fresh and there was a lot of it! My husband ordered the rack of lamb and was not...disappointed. It is their signature dish and he said it was outstanding.More

We went to the Blue Lion on Thursday night, September 10. They told me they were completely booked but as we were walking out, she had a cancellation! Great for us. The food was fantastic and the service was great. We could not have found...a negative comment about this restaurant if we tried. We were so happy with our dinners that we reserved a table for Friday, Sept. 11, 2020. The only opening she had was 7:15 pm outside. I wasn't crazy about the time or being outside since it starts to get cold, but once again, I was pleasantly surprised when she text me to tell me that she had a table for us at 6:45 inside The food was fantastic and absolutely no complaints with the service. I highly recommend this restaurant.More

We made reservations here and were notified when our table was ready and then seated immediately. Food service was also really fast for high quality food. Elk and buffalo de burgo are both class choices

You won’t regret ordering the Buffalo de Burgo. I was tempted by the Buffalo with huckleberry but was able to snag a bite off a friend’s plate - Burgo is the way to go. The Wyoming breeze was also a light and delicious choice without...being overly sweet.More

The patio is spacious and had a nice ambiance (I wouldn't have wanted to eat inside since it was a bit musty and dark). We ordered the elk and lamb - they were both delicious and cooked to perfection! Solid portions and everything comes with...a fresh salad. The service was great too. I only wish the huckleberry martini was less sweet and the bread was fresher.More

We went for dinner in July! The food was very good but pretty expensive for what you got. On all the dishes we definitely wished for more of the sauce they spoke about in each dish descriptors

The elk steak was the most tender and flavorful piece of meat I have ever eaten. I added a large Caesar salad and the meal came with broccolini and scalloped potatoes. An excellent meal with great service.

We knew we would be late getting into Jackson after our first day at Yellowstone, so we reserved a table for three online, as this is a very popular restaurant. The restaurant has a very good woodsy feeling and service was excellent from beginning to...end. The menu was quite extensive and the three of us all elected to order seafood. We discussed the potential risk of ordering seafood this far inland, but relied on the Blue Lion's reputation. It proved to be a good choice. We each ordered a different entree - ahi, salmon and halibut. All were prepared to perfection. The excellent wine list offered a full range of choices and prices. We especially appreciated not being rushed out of the restaurant (our reservation was at 8:30pm). All in all, this restaurant deserves it's fine reputation. I would be more than happy to return in the not too distant future.More
