We were touring with Trafalgar and this restaurant was within walking distance for us so we took a chance. Well it turned out to be a terrific choice, we went the beef route rather than their game. Steaks were high end fine dining quality. Locals...have a gem and travelers should not miss both the food and the decor. Expensive but worth it!More

Nice Western decor. Big menu. Food was average. Needed spice. Nice wait staff but overrated and a bit pricey

The decor is very Western unique with taxidermy animals adorning the walls. The menu’s hallmark meats are elk and bison. Good service and interesting ambiance make this restaurant special.

Waiter Great! Ambiance cattle western/urban chic wonderful. Drink: unique selection. I had Annie Oakley and loved them, my husband had the grand Teton mule and enjoyed it. Menu small selection/nice game choices. I had the beef tenderloin along with another of our guests. My flavor...was fantastic and so tender although I asked for smaller tenderloin only have 8oz or bigger. Asked for med rare as I always eat it like that. Came out rare! Side garlic mashed good. Ceaser salad nothing special just full romaine lettuce leaves. Presentation nice. Plate temperature could have been warmer. Overall for the price I would have like a better experience.More

I had the Elk Chop - it was wonderful. The rest of the family had the medallions, ribeye. Waiter was very good and professional - despite them being super busy. We had one issue of a poor of meat that was promptly taken care of....The location is a bit away from downtown, you have to drive to the plaza to get there.More

Went with my family of 4 with 2 hungry college age sons and husband. The restaurant itself was “fun” with much to look at with animal trophies adorning the walls and while a big place cozy seating with multiple levels. This allowed you to actual...hear one another (some restaurants can be so noisy). The food however was just so-so. My one son ordered the elk which was not cooked as requested and the rest of us various cuts of steak. We had to send back my husbands with it not cooked properly. Plus the flavor just wasn’t there. The service too was a bit lacking with water glasses going unfilled and drinks late or forgotten (although our server did try). For Jackson Hole prices I was hoping for more. We wouldn’t return and I would be hesitant to recommend without some caveats given the inconsistency.More

Food was fantastic. Cooked perfectly. Elk Steak, Bison Prime Rib, Salmon. Deep dish apple pie was out of this world, Huckleberry Ice Cream pie was off the charts. Service was excellent.

Booked here as it was a short walk from our hotel. Atmospheric interior. Had the elk and pork chop followed by an excellent ice cream pie. All food good and good service from Melvin. Price a little high for what we had but Jackson does...seem expensive.More

Atmosphere is unique with all the animal mounts, but food was just ok for the price. Service was also ok, but not great. Kids menu limited. On a 2 week vacation and have had several superior meals at less cost.

We chose The Gun Barrel Steak and Game House restaurant after reading several reviews of many area restaurants. We were highly impressed by the impeccable service provided by Kristian as well as the delicious food. My wife chose the fried green tomatoes and the bison...prime rib while I had the French onion soup and the grilled pork chop. All were expertly prepared and served. All this and classic Western charm as well! We highly recommend this restaurant.More

This restaurant has a nice and had a different atmosphere with all the mounted animals to see; however, we found the food to be just o.k. The beef filet was not good at all in my opinion. Even at the relatively high price of the...filet, I chose to only eat a few bites of it. The salmon was good but the bison prime rib was thin and chewy. The spinach and artichoke dip appetizer was really good though! Overall, I would rate this restaurant at a 3. I'm thinking that if you are looking for a good steak that you would find a better one elsewhere.More

Very characterful restaurant, a visual feast for the eyes. Hostess was very welcoming and got us a table in a perfect location. It wasn't very busy for a Friday night but still had a buzzy atmosphere. We had a friendly waitress who was really working...hard. She didn't seem to have much support. The meal was good - we shared a smoked salmon entrée which was more than enough for two. Our steaks did not appear to be cooked as requested but actually looked and tasted fine so we did not send them back. They were sized perfectly too for a modest appetite which made a change!More

Prepare to WAY overpay for average food. Plus, our server was totally inattentive and somewhat rude- especially considering it was a $200+ check. Definitely would not pay to go back.

Get the Elk Pops for sure! They are Devine! If your really hungry, I suggest the Mixed Game Grill, which includes elk, venison and bison. Be prepared, it is pricey. For dessert, our family ordered cheesecake, huckleberry ice cream cake, cream brûlée, and apple pie....I’m sorry, but dessert isn’t their specialty… just skip the dessert here. Make sure to check their hours since they open late in the afternoon, and make reservations.More

It is located in a very large parking plaza. I'm not sure as we had a rental car and had to park in another area of the parking lot away from the restaurant because they were packed, but if spaces are available there maybe... More
