After a two week trip to Grand Teton and Yellowstone that involved entirely too much time in a camper, my wife and I decided to pamper ourselves with hotel and dinner reservations at the White Buffalo Club. We would have been better off staying at...the no amenities campground we left in Yellowstone. We arrived in Jackson a day early initially, and inquired about changing our reservation and pushing it up a day. Initially I was told there was a $220 price difference for our suite, which I agreed to. Upon trying to confirm the change, Pedro, the general manager, stated that on second glance, that there were no rooms available and we would have to upgrade to the $900 per night room. We declined and spent another night in the camper, but were frustrated to see that we could book our same room, for the same price, at multiple other travel websites for the night we wanted. Unfortunately, the disappointment didn’t end at the hotel staff. When we showed up early for our dinner reservation (because we were told on multiple occasions that if we were late they would give our table away), we inquired about bar seating if we had to wait. The host stated the bar was unavailable and then simply walked away. I understand that COVID has effected the bars, etc. so that was fine. The host however never said he could seat us or that we would have to wait. He just walked away. We flagged down a waitress and she confirmed our reservation and sat us at what appeared to be a makeshift table outside of the bar with two paper menus. We can recite you everything on it, including the vintage of the wines, because we stared at it for 17 minutes without so much as an “I’ll be with you shortly” from a server. Do not overlook (no pun intended) the White Buffalo Club. They offer really great cocktails, a wonderful wine list, superb service, and creative entrees.

We felt fortunate this past Saturday to get a reservation for 6 people at this restaurant last week ago based on the reduced seating and the busy time of year it was in Jackson Hole. Upon making the reservation, it was emphasized that we must...be on time for dinner or we would be turned away. Well, even with a down pour of rain at 7pm, we arrived on time as requested. However, upon arriving we were informed that our table was still occupied and that we could wait at the tables outside the restaurant area. We asked if we could enjoy a drink at the bar but were told “No seating or standing was allowed at the bar due to COVID restrictions.” We abided by the rules and proceeded to the out of dining waiting area and order drinks as waited for our table. An hour later, we finally were seated at our table which was just 4 feet from the bar. There were no stools around the bar. Kate, our server came over and took our order and opened our corkage bottle of wine. We ordered 4 Fish Specials @ $52 each and a Rib Eye Steak for 2 that was pricey at $200. We proceeded to enjoyed a $17 appetizer and bread and butter service for $10 and ordered another bottle of wine waiting for dinner to be served. Besides our party, there was also a party of 2 waiting for dinner as well. While waiting for our meals, around 9 pm, a group of 6 between the ages of 25-30 year old bellied up to the bar and proceeded to ordered drinks. They were served drinks at the bar and continued to hover at the bar for an hour. Note that this group was within 3 feet of us – definitely not the 6 feet required by the health codes – but that wasn’t the point. We were told the bar was off limits due to COVID. The group was so extremely close to our table and felt terribly uncomfortable and most important we did NOT feel safe. Our server could tell we were uncomfortable but did nothing. We were so worried that we all grabbed the tables and physically moved them to the other end of the room since not one server or Manager intervened on our behalf. While this group was at the bar, we noticed the kitchen staff and the servers at the back of the bar with no masks and several of them were doing shots with the bartender. This was a bit disturbing to see so much of the staff drinking and taking several shots each. They were entwined in their get together that I had to get our server to go check on our food since it appeared the kitchen had quit for the night without our dinners being served yet. Around 9:20pm the food was finally brought out. The steak was sizzling on the salt brick but the 4 moonfish specials were all cold as well as all the vegetables. This place is not cheap but for the price you pay, we expected good service and food served hot. I cut into the fish and as I suspected those dinners appeared to have been cooked and plated 15 minutes prior service so the meal was cold. I guess shots at the bar took priority to the guest having dinner hot and timely! I confronted the server and, not understanding cooking of firm texture fish, she offered reheat them. I have over 20 years of restaurant ownership and have a degree in Hotel & Restaurant so I knew that doing this would overcook the dish to dried out inedible texture. I requested she cancel the fish and just bring us another Rib Eye for 2, knowing this would take 20 minutes to cook. She offered us some sides to eat while we waited for the steak and I asked her to see if her manager would comp a 2nd bottle of wine due to the inconvenience but the manager refused and never came out and spoke to us about the issue. We ordered another bottle any way and our server delivered the 4 side dishes that we were led to believe were complimentary. It is now close to 10 pm when we received our steak. Our tab for the six of us for the evening, (see the attached) our tab was $900 for meals including the side orders the server had offered us, not stating she was charging us for then. This did not even include our tab at the very beginning of the evening. We sent close to $1,000 that evening for a terrible dining experience. I called the General Manager of the property, Perdro Ramos. On the initial call, he did not want to speak with me when I made him aware of an issue with our dinner on September 19th. He took my number and scheduled a return call at 10 am the following morning. I made another attempt to get ahold of Mr. Ramos but never returned my call as of the posting of this review. Unfortunately, this place has no hospitality and it is very apparent they do not care about their guests experience and the safety of their guests. The employees even all clapped when we got up to leave that evening as if they were in the right for poor service and cold food. Totally reprehensible experience!! There are so many bad reviews for this place and after looking at other reviews, it is evident that this property is POORLY run and lacks customer service and desperately needs someone with true hotel and restaurant experience Don’t go to this place for dinner. I wish we would have read the review prior to our dinner.More

Terrible first impression for us. Dirty plates on tables from previous diners. Smelled bad. Sat for 10 minutes upon arriving with no attention. We got up and left. They sure didn’t seem to even care. Glad we dodged that bullet.

Wow! That was really bad. One is the worst meals I’ve had post Covid. Super slow service, severely uncooked food. Sent the food back and returned just as bad. Lots of good restaurants in Jackson. Go somewhere else!

Well this is my first ever negative review of a small business, but I felt as if unfortunately it is necessary. My family and I were looking forward to a very nice meal and experience and were expecting such as the restaurant has a reputation...for excellent cuisine ( with the exception of some other recent negative reviews based on service and attitude). First, let me start by saying that food we received was very well prepared so kudos to the chef. Now for the reason for the negative review: We ordered our food and then were virtually ignored for a whole hour. Not even a glance came our way from our waitress or any concern for how we were doing during the wait. The manager did fill our water glasses once during the hour. My husband wanted to order a glass of wine and had to go get a wine menu himself and then flag down the waitress to request the wine. Then after an hour long wait still with no attention, my husband went up to the bar to see if we could get some bread since we were getting pretty hungry. At that point, our waitress finally approached him and proceeded to tell him that “THEY DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH” of the steak that he ordered and asked him if he’d like to order something additional ( of course at our expense. )Now remember, this was after an HOUR of being virtually ignored in the restaurant. Why we weren’t informed that they did not have the food that my husband ordered before one hour I cannot fathom. We left a very small tip ( we almost always leave at least 25%) and a note explaining our disappointment . The manager did call us after we left. We explained to her that we had never received such poor service at a restaurant of that caliber and were honestly so floored by the disinterest they displayed toward us that we really didn’t know what to say to them while we were dining. She listened to our complaint and said she was happy she got the chance to speak with us but never once offered an apology! Very strange and this was the manager! If she had only apologized I may have reconsidered leaving this review. Unfortunate night of many missed opportunities for good customer service from this “fine dining” establishment.More

We arrived at 8pm for an 8pm reservation. At 8:27 we were still waiting. It became necessary for us to seek out the "hostess" and point out that there was an empty table available. Her response was that it wasn't the table they had anticipated...giving to us. Huh? The room is small, the tables all the same, the seats all the same. ??? So, a half an hour after the reservation we were seated. The server made several mistakes during the meal. Bottom line:This place needs a manager. The food is very good, the service is amateur time. The room is small and noisy. The steaks are $50. My Italian wife had to point out to them that a wine in their list is not from Sicily, as claimed in their wine list, but is actually from Piedmonte... northern Italy. A very disappointing evening.More

The happy hour is a great deal the food ia amazing. But if you enjoy being stared down the nose by bitchy waitresses and spoke to like your a mere peasant in the presence of a goddess who works as a server, then please go...to this restaurant. The manager will listen to your complaint about the bad attitude and pretend you're speaking in Klingon. Unless you're announced before the seating that you own a gold mine or hedge fund, YOU WILL be treated like a nobody who does not deserve the time of day. It's really quite sad because of the potential this restaurant has to be amazing.More
