My husband and I had a great meal at Cowboy Cafe. The Smashed Avocado on Toast w/egg is a delightful surprise. My husband loved his burger. Service was fast and friendly. Our server, Lauren, was a delight. She even let me hang around in the booth for awhile after we were done eating because I was charging some devices at a nearby outlet. If we are in the area again, we will definitely stop here for a meal.

We both ate delicious burgers here and also ordered pie for dessert and bought two pieces to take with us. Their pies are homemade and their variety was incredible! All of ours were delicious!!!!! The burgers were also a good size and very tasty. Lauren was our waitress and was working very hard to serve all of the customers - she was friendly, helpful, and made great suggestions. We complimented her several times, as she was the kind of waitress you would want to wait on you at any restaurant! The Cowboy Cafe is located by the Stagecoach Inn where we stayed for five days and it is ALWAYS busy - - so obviously a great place to eat!

We ate Breakfast and Lunch at the Cowboy Cafe. It is a wonderful place to eat in Dubois. The staff is great. The restaurant is clean albeit small but we were able to sit outside both times. They have a unique and varied menu. For lunch we split a chef's salad and reuben. Both were delicious and filling. The reuben had chunks of corned beef. The chef's salad was fresh. WE also took two slices of homemade German Chocolate Cheesecake to go which we ate for dinner. Superb! For breakfast, my husband had biscuits and gravy and I had the fried green tomato eggs benedict. My husband's biscuits and gravy were excellent. The fried green tomato eggs benedict was to die for. The fried green tomatoes served as the bread with ham, eggs and a delicious hollandaise sauce. I highly recommend the Cowboy Cafe. I will look forward to eating there again when we are in Dubois.

This was one of my favorite places to eat during our 3000 miles round trip from Missouri, Iowa, S.D.,Wy,Montana and Nebraska. It was very good food at reasonable prices with fast service. O.K. it might not have been the friendliest service, but compared to Buffalo Valley Cafe in Moran this was concierge attention. My wife already listed our foods that we ordered and description of the pies . Yes, I loved the apple that got left in the frig of our VRBO. Uggh. I wanted that for the cattle drive through Wy. lol. My advise as well as that of the cashier at the local grocery store is to eat at the Cowboy Cafe. Enjoy and fill up. It is a long drive either direction without human fuel like it anywhere.

There was both comfort food like a hot roast beef sandwich for my husband, and modern food options like the summer salad, which had avocado, eggs, greens, sweet potato, etc., with quinoa for me. Seems like a locals place, had great looking pies. Doesn't seem like it's been updated inside for 40 years, but that adds to the character. Service was very good too.

There aren't many options in Dubois, and this place was busy! We didn't have to wait long to be seated. Only 9 tables inside and three outside! Menu had a variety of burgers and sandwiches, steaks, ribs, salad and several kinds of pie. We had chicken fried steak that was pretty good, but seemed to be the pre-made style, the burger was good, my daughter loved the ribs, and I had a French dip which was more onion and mushroom than meat, but was pretty good. We took their pie to go and it was tasty, but $6/slice! We would return if in the area and would recommend!

Good hospitality and great food. Their spicy elk sausage is worth the trip to eat here. Best breakfast on our Yellowstone trip. This is a local favorite and is small so you may have to wait for a table.

We ate supper and breakfast here when we stayed in Dubois. Both were very excellent! There was a little bit of a wait for supper but was expected for how busy they were. The pie and ice cream made up for it!! Definitely have to save room. Breakfast was just as wonderful but suggest if you're not a big breakfast eater like myself share a meal with someone! It was very good with large portions!

Nice little local place with some outdoor seating. The spicy elk sausage and smoked buffalo sausage were absolutely wonderful and certainly not found on your average menu. The second night we had All American burgers which were very nice. And, I must say the sweet potato fries were the best I’ve ever eaten. Then, there was the sinful dessert board with 8 to 10 unique pie choices (I assume homemade). Oh, and then there’s the question of adding ice cream. We tried four different pies over two meals and they were all impressive. This restaurant is an absolute must in such an inviting small community. Also, the staff was very friendly and welcoming.

We have had all three meals here over the past several days, and every meal has been delicious. They make every effort to serve you what you want, including hot apple pie with milk for breakfast! Because this is a popular place, the servers and the kitchen work as a team. And it works to everyone's benefit And be sure to save room for pie!

The place already had a lot of customers at 11.30am. Fortunately, we didn't have to wait too long for our takeout order. The Bison Burger was small, expensive, and not as flavorful as expected. The sweet potato fries were good, though. Very interesting store front.

Delicious food served by an outstanding stand. We ate dinner here last night & loved it so much that we came back for breakfast this morning. SOOOOO GOOOODDDD! Even if you are stuffed, get a piece of homemade piece of pie to go. You won't be disappointed!

We stayed in town for the night and chose to eat from the Cowboy Cafe. We called in our order to have back at the room and we were glad we did. This place is small but was hopping with guests. We placed our order of four meals via phone and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I was surprised at only 15 minutes but dang, the order was correct, spot on, and taste great! We enjoyed and would do it again.
