We sat at the bar and experienced a bartender that was definitely not into wanting to be there. I ordered onion soup it came as a bowl of soggy bread with a tablespoon of broth and a few pieces of onion. I ate 5 bites....Bartender didn’t seem to care or notice it was still a full bowl. I ordered rare prime rib it came medium and was pretty Tuff. Our bartender never once inquired of our meal.More

This was a merely tolerable experience for a number of reasons. 1) We had a reservation for 5 people, but there was not an available table when we arrived. We were offered a small table for 4 where we wouldn’t have been comfortable at all,...or we could sit in the “back room,” which turned out to be a storage room. In fact, we were told that it stinks back there when we were offered the small table. Really?!?! We should have left at this point, but we decided to try the back room anyway—simply because we were hungry and knew we wouldn’t fit at the smaller table. The room was extremely warm and we sat next to boxes, but they pushed two tables together so we had room for all of us. 2) The service was quick, and our server was friendly. But that just didn’t make up for the neglect of our making reservations. Why offer them if you won’t honor them and have a place for people who make them? There was a table that had a “reserved” card on it—also for 6:00p; we just didn’t have one. 3) The food was meh... I ordered the bone-in ribeye. It was $32, but Longhorn Steakhouse has a much better bone-in ribeye for less. I ordered medium rare; it was medium plus. It was charred on some points to the level of crunchy. Like I could scrape off the black char... I was also sad to ask for steak sauce for a $32 steak. They were out of baked potatoes at 6; they only start serving them at 5. Seriously?!?! My husband’s steak was also over cooked. The flavor was ok on both, but for the price, I would have expected more. Did I send it back? No, and maybe I should have. When I started eating, it was fine—not good, not great. I just don’t send food back unless it’s absolutely inedible. My parents did send theirs back because they ordered medium rare, and it came out too rare. I should have just traded with them, but they had a different cut. Our total bill was right at $200, and the back storage room and quality of the food did not merit a $200 tab. We are from Atlanta, and we could have a much longer better experience and meal at a steakhouse there. I am just disappointed that we are in the middle of “beef country” and had a sub-par experience with our steaks. Maybe our expectations were just too high... 🤷🏼‍♀️ Or maybe we should just go there for a burger at lunch instead.More

Had excellent lunch experience, great pulled pork and fries. Friendly quick service. Dinner warning..... Pretty much anywhere in town on Friday after 6 you need reservations. Tried to check out dinner here arrived to server running around saying "wait here I'll be back" to me...then 7 other locals ... They were seated immediately In two separate parties then finally ran back to me and said there were no seats so until 730 so I left and didn't get to try dinner. Big difference between lunch and dinner.More

The lady at the sporting good shop recommended the Proud Cut to us as we were traveling home from Yellowstone looking for lunch before our trip to the airport. My husband ordered a steak sandwich that came with focaccia bread and he said it was...literally the best steak he’s ever eaten in his life. I had a bison burger and ordered it how I normally order a burger. No bun and just the burger. Wow is all I can say. I put no salt, no ketchup, absolutely nothing on the burger and it was amazing as well. Cool interior decor and outdoor seating seemed spacious as well.More

Proud Cut came highly recommended so I may be a bit critical here but thought it was simply average. The Rocky Mountain oysters were good to try but hard to get past the texture for me. The blue cheese burger was overcooked a bit, however...still very good. The service was not the best in fact it seemed as if we were a bother at certain points.More

We stopped here early in the afternoon while in Cody. They had a good choice of regional beers on tap. We enjoyed the spinach salad with warm bacon dressing. They have a 21+ age restriction so if you have children you should check that out...ahead of time. I believe they allow children in certain areas, but again, check it out if it might be an issue for you.More

Don't do it. French onion soup was greasy, and tasted old. Steak was dry, beer was flat and the service redefined indifferent. I'm not lying when i say Burger King is a better option, and it's a shame because everything about the place taunts hidden...gem. It's not. It's a piece of shale.More

This is the third time I have eaten at the proud city. The first two times were great. This time I ordered the 16 oz prime rib. It was terrible it was gristly and tough and Luke warm. The worst prime rib I have ever...eaten. My daughters boyfriend ordered the walleye and it was full of bones. We had two waiters the first one was the bartender he was great the second was a lady and she was forgetful . In her defense she was trying to run four big tables and needed help. I was really disappointed in the quality of the food. Usually when I order prime rib medium rare you can cut it with a fork not this one.More

We went here for lunch during our visit to the Buffalo Bill Center. Both of us ordered the bison burger. The burger was very flavorful and juicy. Also had the fried cheese curds for an appetizer. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Sorry I...forgot her name. She was originally from Paso Robles, CA. Would love to try other items off their menu the next time we're in Cody.More

We were seated quickly and had excellent service. We had the baseball cut and the new york... Both were cooked perfectly. The mixed drink was very strong. Well done and thank you!

Rude, I have had nothing but a good experience with the owner.
