I ordered a steak sandwich with cheddar cheese, mayo, lettuce and timorous. I got one with provolone and jalapeños. Lots of jalapeño, and I hate hot foods. Fries were good.

First time to eat at The Meatery. It was recommended by a friend from out of state. So, decided to stop in & give it a try. Man, from the great food (huge double bacon cheesebuger), to the homemade jerky, their own butcher...we really enjoyed...it. Great place to try!!More

First, I get it. I live in a place with millions of tourists every year. It's a lot - but shops also want the tourist dollar, so customer service is important. And general human decency and respect, moreso. Overall, I loved Cody. After a lovely...few hours of shopping along Sheridan Ave., I wanted a bit of local meat for my campsite dinner. I went in to the 'butcher shop' side of The Meatery. First, not a butcher shop - a few cuts of prepackaged meat, but a big sign that says 'we can cut to order' so I asked for a single bison burger. A 20 minute wait ensued... the man behind the counter didn't know how to ring it up, so we waited for 'the kid' to come help. While waiting, this man (who had 'jokingly' told the family before me 'If you think you want to move here, don't!) struck up a conversation with me, and then - finding I was from DC - asked me if I'd been indoctrinated yet and ranted about political stuff, pushing me for my opinion. (No, I don't work in government.) It was a seriously uncomfortable situation for me, and totally inappropriate and unfriendly of him. The 'kid' finally came over, and couldn't figure out how to weigh said single bison burger, so threw out a made-up cost (no rhyme or reason...) and I paid it so I could leave. I should have gone to Walmart. Shop local? Not with this incompetence and animosity! :(More

Took 45 minutes to make 2 burgers and a corn dog. Was told “about 10 minutes “. Quality ok but not worth the price. Better food at Wendy’s for 1/3 the money.

when we arrived, I asked the counter person for a recommendation and she said she was knew and had not really eaten the food. Husband ordered a steak sandwich that was so tough he literally could not chew it. I ordered a fajita steak sandwich...and got a flat steak with cold onion and pepper. Meat had no seasoning. horribly disappointing and far too costly at $30More

I've been to Cody once before and was here again on Friday and Saturday nights. I decided to try Meatery and went there both nights. They are a restaurant and butcher and have their own local grass-fed beef, pork, and lamb. The first night I...had a double cheeseburger; it was delicious but a tad overdone; I should have specified medium as the default seemed medium well. But I enjoyed it. They don't have pre-made patties; they make the patty from scratch when you order so it tales longer but is worth it. On Saturday night I had their brisket sandwich special; it was terrific. I had fries as a side both nights and it was a big portion; they were delicious and made fresh.More

Jillian made the entire experience! She’s an amazing cook! We ordered the burrito, biscuits and gravy with eggs and hash browns, biscuit with egg bacon and cheddar cheese sandwich and biscuits and gravy. Everything was so wonderful! My mom said that was the best breakfast...sandwich she has ever had! Jillian let us taste the The brisket that was on special that day. They had been cooking it for 24 hours. It was so amazing that we ended up coming back for lunch and ordering the brisket. This is a hidden gem. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. The owners should never let Jillian go.More

We decided to try the Meatery for the first time today. Our visit was around 1:30 PM and there were not a lot of people there. We ordered sandwiches/ burgers and fries but were told they could not make the fries because there was a...problem with the fryer. That was disappointing to have a burger and no fries but we rolled with it. It took about 20 minutes for our food to come out, which seemed a bit long for a burger and a BLT with no fries, especially given that they were not very busy. The food was not great, and for the money I would say I probably won't be back. The burger was overcooked. We were underwhelmed.More

Good basic food. The family meal has a great variety of food, such as beans, brisket, and coleslaw. The brisket is tender and comes with a runny BBQ sauce which spills all over the big piece of bun that they give you for sandwiches. The...food is good, but the staff has no regard for the corona virus whatsoever. We asked if the cooks were masked when making the food, they were not, not even when making the cold foods. The outside patio, where the patrons had to sit was not prepared for the summer, really. One table had a broken umbrella, so we couldn't sit with shade. The only table available was dirty, so we had to clean it. There was no way to do distancing there. I would wait until they have their act together with social distancing to eat on the premises or order and take only.More
