5 of us went to the plains dining room on a Sunday night. The hostess informed us that she was also the bartender and our server. She did a great job taking good care of us. We were all pleased with our dinner salads as the mixed greens were very fresh and crunchy. The blue cheese dressing was quite watery... More

Diane had the roasted chicken with marsala sauce and I had the chicken fried steak. Served with a small salade and homemade bread, everything was very good. The beef in my steak was exceptionally tender and Diane's chicken was very juicy. The downside was that the breading, while tasty and crunchy, did not stick to the meat and made it... More

Here for breakfast. Oatmeal was good. Gravy not the best. Prices reasonable. It was an okay breakfast but nothing to brag about

Staying at the Plains Hotel on business and came down for dinner about 6:45. There were half a dozen tables filled with diners. After being sat by the hostess and a waitress got something to drink I waited to order. I waited over 25 minutes before a manager walked by and called a different waitress over. I was just about... Tired and hungry, we went here after checking into The Plains hotel. Service was slow and mistakes were made (a baked potato was asked for instead if rice, but didn't come. The manager brought a barely warmed up, old baked potato.) they were out of dinner rolls, stale white bread was substituted. Chicken Marsala came with three mushroom slices and... More

I had the N.Y. steak and it was perfect. This is really a nice place, well decorated and comfortable. My waitress was Aspen and she could not have been nicer. I'd eat here every time I'm in Cheyenne. Its a great location, downtown in the historic Plains Hotel and just across from the train depot. Really a good place to... More

Our friend Bud, told us that new owners bought the Plains Hotel so we decided to try it for lunch. We had a pleasant, helpful waitress and our meals came out in a timely fashion. The Cheyenne Cheese Steak and sweet potato fries were very good. The Cheese Steak was made with exceptional beef, not some cheap grade. The Nachos... More

My husband and I booked the New Years Eve package at The Plains Hotel, which included a $50 dinner voucher, featuring Steak and Lobster. However, when we sat down and ordered our appetizer (Lobster Fondue), we were told that it was not available. When we ordered our dinners, again told that that was last year's menu and unavailable. Why would... More

The restaurant looks like it should be a fun dining establishment in a big city as the name implies. They do offer a full bar and the interior is beautiful. The menu is more casual American than fine dining. They offer reasonably priced sandwiches, burgers etc with a few dinner items. We had the ribeye steaks which were nicely cooked... More

In historic hotel. Dining area has been remodeled and very nice. Great food - menu changes periodically. Great staff although have been short handed a couple of times but worth the wait.
