I actually took both my dinner and breakfast at the Cowboy Inn. Plus I rented a room overnight for work. Everyone on staff that I interacted with was kind, fun, funny, and went out of their way to make me comfortable and welcome. The locals...gathered in the bar for an exciting Thursday night out on the town! The local community was very kind and totally welcoming. I hadn’t been in the bar 5 minutes when locals at the bar invited me to join their table. Shortly after that, they bought my next beer! Honestly, going to the Cowboy in Baggs is exactly what it must have been like for “Norm, walking into Cheers” on the sitcom! You are obviously a stranger for as long as takes the crowd to identify that you are one of the good guys! After that, the party is in and everyone in the building is welcoming you to town and making sure you have everything you may possibly need! I’ve lived in WY for 30 years, and am still the new guy in the Lions Club! I go to The Cowboy in Baggs, and in less than 5 minutes, I’m part of the crew and more welcome than Santa Clause! I never stay anyplace other than the Cowboy when work brings me to Baggs. So long as the rooms are spotless, the bar is hopping, and the staff treats me like family, I won’t overnight anywhere else! I promise you, if you are on the way to Yellowstone and need a motel for a night or five, route your trip through Baggs, WY, enjoy your nights at the Cowboy Inn, and then wonder, if you can justify moving to WY and into Baggs! It really isn’t possible to overnight in Baggs, and be anything less than in love with this small town! Best dining for all meals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner that I’ve ever enjoyed in 20 years construction staking in WY! The people at the bar and in for the dining are always happy with the choice to hit the Cowboy! In any case, I’ll book my room there each and every time work takes me to Baggs! It simply isn’t possible to overnight in South Central WY and end up anywhere better than the Cowboy Inn! Come join us there any chance you get, visit with locals, enjoy the conversation with one of two self employedMore

The service was friendly, and the restaurant has good seating and good cowboy atmosphere. Our dinner was good. My husband had the burrito. He is a good cook and an opinionated connoisseur of Mexican food and he liked the burrito. Our server was so nice...and gave us great tips about visiting the area. Her suggestions made our whole trip more fun and exciting.More

This is a great spot to have lunch, and much better than driving on to Craig in search of decent food. My husband had a very good hamburger with real French fries and I had a nice BLT with the same excellent French fries. The...staff were friendly, if extremely busy, and the prices were very reasonable. Do yourself a favor and stop here if you’re in Baggs.More

We were driving and really needed WIFI access. My brother found this location via Yelp. We had to drive around the road construction. Seated ourselves and the server came pretty quickly. Everyone received pretty decent food. No real complaints from anyone. There was a closed...down section in the back in which we could conduct our important Zoom conference call. Overall, this is the only place probably within 100 miles that we could eat and have WIFI. Thank you God!!More

Overall, I was really impressed with this place. The service was great, the food tasty, and the beer cold. Prices were reasonable. The place was clean and the attached bar had a fun vibe. I am certain to return.

Great people! The owners treated us great and made us feel welcome. Met a lot of nice local folks. All the food was good and probably the best burger I have ate. Hope to stay with them again next fall!

This place was WAY better than I expected. The chicken wings were perfect, the patty melt was terrific, and the crispy tacos were the star of the show. They made the shells in house, and I’m fairly certain the beef was local. The service was...very friendly too. I will definitely return to this place.More

This place is so good for breakfast I went twice, you’d have to be a chump to pass up the biscuits and gravy! Some of the best I’ve had in a very long time. And the service was outstanding! My server was friendly and kind....Well if you happen this way you can’t miss it, come hungry!More

Simple wholesome food with friendly help. Visited with French father and son hiking and checking out Yellowstone. Waitress was super welcoming to them. By the time we left we had all visited together. Our clubhouse and fries were very good.

We were starving by the time we found a place to eat, it was about 3 pm and we hadn’t had lunch. I ordered the patty melt and my husband ordered the French dip. They were both delicious! The restaurant was extremely clean and a...good find! The only negative thing I could say is you could hear the trashy mouthed women at the bar. I would suggest closing that off or playing some background music. I ignored it best I could but I would have asked someone to quiet them down had I had my parents or grandparents with me. It was that filthy. I feel like they were definitely locals.More

We traveled to Baggs for a big fundraising event. Normally on Sunday morning in a small town there is little to choose from for food as everything is closed. The Cowboy Inn was the only place open. We were not expecting much and boy were...we surprised! The buffet breakfast was delicious and super affordable. The restaurant was very clean and the staff and owners were very friendly and provided exceptional customer service. If your travels bring you to Baggs Wyoming, don't hesitate to eat here.More

We had the hot roast beef sandwich and the pulled pork sandwich for dinner and both were excellent with the exception of the beef being sliced the wrong way. It was sliced with the grain instead of across the grain. This made it a little...more chewey than it should have been, They could have served me cardboard under that gravy and I would have liked it though. The best beef gravy I have had in a very long time. The service was excellent and very friendly. Had biscuits and gravy for breakfast the next day and it was very good as were the huge mound of hash browns that was served with it.More

on the way to "the eclipse" (following day) and stopped here as this was about half-way on our trip. pleasantly surprised ~ though mid-afternoon and not too busy (we'd heard "horror stories" about how all of Wyoming was inundated w/eclipse-seekers) -- "sit anywhere" the hostess...(Jennifer) said -- so we sat at the bar. restrooms were clean, interesting décor, quick and attentive service -- and two of us ordered "reuben" (ruben?) sandwiches -- we were really impressed with the side-mashed-potatoes. I am not kidding. very filling, delicious, kind of sad that there seems to be a "for sale" sign out in front -- hope that, whatever it means, doesn't change this place from what it is. basically inexpensive, and again, we enjoyed/appreciated our mid-afternoon lunch time there.More
