We have eaten here several times but our last visit caused us to walk out after being ignored by our server! We I’d not arrived at 9:30 for a late weekday breakfast. The place was not crowded, so we took a table. Waitress stopped over...after a few minutes and asked if we wanted anything to drink, we ordered our coffee. She did not bring us menus or silverware, but we assumed they would be brought with the coffee. Watched the waitress go off, she cleaned some tables, brought some people their checks...but no coffee or menu. She walked past us to deliver food and looked right past us. A second group of 4 came in after us took a table a second waitress brought them menus and returned immediately with their coffee. At this point I saw our waitress standing at the cash register sipping her coffee! We had enough and stood up to walk out. We used to look to sixth street as our go to restaurant for breakfast. This horrible experience will cause us to rethink that and where we tell friends to go.More
Eggs Benedict is a favorite of mine and the Station Benny from Sixth Street Filling Station is tops on my list. Their Hollandaise sauce is rich and creamy, served over an egg on top of their homemade sausage on top of hash browns. A meal...like no other. Not to be missed! (Their other breakfast items are great, too, according to my non-benny friends)More
Everyone inside and outside the restaurant had ordered but were sitting at their tables with no food for a long time - 45 minutes or longer? Waitress said that they take care of online and drop by orders first - before inside and outside customers....My friend ordered a Cheeseburger - her bun was hard as a rock- she had to chip it off to get to the hamburger and when she did, it was also hard as a rock and overly cooked to smithereens. My friend was given a $5 gift card, but she didn't know how to tell them that she won't be back again. Will give it to someone else. Very bad experience and so surprising as we have been going to this restaurant since the original owner had it. That's a lot of years!More
The place is small and somewhat charming. Typical old memorabilia. The menu was some burgers , some sandwiches and a quesadilla. From first glance, another of the same old same old. The quality was pretty good. The Quesadillas were impressive and their other items looked...tasyy. I had a burger and my guest had the quesadilla. We left full and content. They do have a small brunch. Their specials board is quite clustered and barely readable. There were a few appetizers. Overall better thana greasy spoon . My good burger ran $12 with drink.More
Had breakfast here last week and totally enjoyed it. I had their take on Eggs Benedict. A in-house made sausage patty served on top of crispy hash brown potatoes with a traditional hollandaise sauce. The sausage was perfect, interestingly spiced with a touch of heat,...the potatoes were done right and the sauce was lemony. The dish could not have been better.
The other three people at breakfast all had excellent looking food and all enjoyed it.
Busy place, but no one was rushing us at all. Attentive and friendly staff.
Bright open area, the restaurant is actually the service bays for an old gas station, hence the name.
Well worth the stop!
Please note that I checked "mid-range" for the price level. Some breakfasts are a little more expensive than a regular diner, but so WORTH it. Even then we are talking about prices $9-11. Other menu items are priced in line with any other place.
