This experience is exactly what we’ve found on our trips to the South. Great seafood, excellent and interesting cocktails. Coupled with friendly, attentive service Sand Bar ticks all the boxes. It’s small so reservations are a must at peak times.
I have been here numerous times and I now long to return here more than ever during our enforced sheltering-in-place.
A Carolinas-style restaurant on the shore of beautiful Lake Elizabeth just over the border in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, this hidden gem had great bar food...and a wide her and spirits selection. Very relaxed atmosphere and opportunities for viewing a gorgeous sunset are unrivaled.More
I would like to review this place based on the food but unfortunately we can never get any service. 1st time we went with some friends.....kitchen was closed at 8pm. Few weeks later we tried to order for pickup on a Saturday at 5pm. They..."werent doing carry out orders that day"......on a Saturday. Ridiculous....Ill take my business elsewhere.More
The place was packed when we arrived, it was on a Sunday and early afternoon. It was our first time there so I did not know what to expect, it is a very small place set literally feet from the water. We completely lucked out...as we were told it would be 1 1/2 hour wait for a table and the bar had no open chairs at all. One of the staff motioned for me to come to her, she knew this couple was getting ready to leave so she called us over so we could sit down. We ordered the lobster roll, garlic steamed mussels and the seafood tacos - everything was top notch and very reasonably priced. It was a fun friendly little place that felt like we were in Florida. I can't wait to go back again. On a side note, if you are there strictly for the restaurant you must park across the street, only boating traffic is allowed in the lot directly where the restaurant sits. We were there on a (non Packer game) Sunday and by around 3 pm it started to clear out some so there were actually some open bar seats, so next time I will plan on arriving around that time of day.More
Cute tropical restaurant and bar literally right on the lake. It is the perfect location and has the boat launch and room for boats as well as regular parking. I was only there at night for my first time, but they had tiki torches outside...as well. Interior is decorated as if you were at a restaurant on the beach, very exciting and tropical. We got there close to closing, which we didn't realize, but kitchen was able to still get our food order in and it came out fast so it was nice. Great menu selection with average pricing. I am definitely going to be back in the day time to get the full experience! There is alot on the menu that I want to try. I had a burger that was cooked perfectly.More
Seafood shipped in regularly, creative sandwiches and wraps -the best lobster roll outside of the East coast! Great atmosphere - lakeside with boats coming and going! Worth a hour trip from Chicago for lunch!

Always a great time at The Sand Bar. We decided to stop in for lunch and sat at the bar. The food was very good and everything we saw delivered to others, looked just as good. We love the decor there... makes us feel like...we are on vacation at a Oceanside bar/grill.More
