Wednesday night prime rib does not disappoint. The best we've had. So tender and flavorful. Love the end cut. Bread sticks are hot and fresh. Reasonable prices as well.

We went for a nice Wednesday Walleye diner and steak and it was excellent. Great bar and service. Recommend for lunch or diner you won't be disappointed.
I got exactly what I expected. Visiting the area for work and asked the owner of the B&B where I was staying where we should go for a comfortable dinner. She suggested this place and actually gave us a 10% off coupon. I had the...chicken, which was the special for Sunday night. Good chicken. Way more than I could eat. Lots of sides. The food and bar were reasonably priced. The only complaint was that it took a while once we ordered our food at the bar to be seated, even though it was not that busy. Other than that, we weren't disappointed.More
Sat at bar for a couple drinks. Price of drinks was reasonable. We ordered Gorgonzola Tenderloin and Almond Crusted Walleye. Both were excellent. It was interesting to watch only one waiter take orders, serve, and bus tables. Peggy at the bar was interesting to talk...to, along with a couple of locals.More
We wanted to go to Harry and Laurie's but they were closed. So we tried Hillcrest. So glad we did. The prime rib, best I've ever had plus the horseradish was the bomb 😁 the wait staff was great. Everything was very very good.
Fish specials, classic dining combos (ribs and chicken w/ all the fixins), friendly family atmosphere and Old Fashions made right, this is your place. There's no secret why Hillcrest Lodge is hopping every night of the week, it's a northwoods staple. My wife and I...have been to Hillcrest Lodge at least ten times over the past seven years. Going to the family cabin, a dinner at Hillcrest is going on the itinerary without hesitation. Dinner orders are taken at the bar, be prepared for a minimum fifteen minute wait during lulls, and upwards of an hour on peak times. Highly recommend Old Fashions and the Pink Squirrel, you can't go wrong as you await your table setting. Favorite dining options include the chicken and ribs combo with all the fixins, scallops, perch, NY strip and BLT. In all honesty, we've never had a bad dining experience here. It's a family run operation and customer service is always done with a smile. When friends visit, we take them to Hillcrest Lodge and often they return on their own. For a northwoods supper club, five star rating.More
Our food was excellent. The place is busy and it is not overstaffed, but was worth the wait. I had almond crusted walleye, could only handle one fillet. The veggies were also very good. Warm fresh breadsticks, yum. My husband had poor man's lobster with...red potatoes. He couldn't finish his either.More
We have eaten at Hillcrest Lodge many times. Their selection of entrees is excellent. Often, eating establishments only have 'bar food', but here there is much more. There are specials everyday: Broasted Pork Chop & Marinated Burgandy Tenderloin on Tuesday is outstanding and Almond Encrusted...Walleye & Prime Rib on Wednesdays is amazing to name a few! Check their daily specials here: http://hillcrest-supperclub.com/daily-specials/More
The place has been in decline for several years. It was known for its walleye. Friday night we ordered walleye. It was spoiled? No one asked why we did not eat our meal We paid and ate down the road.
I'm always hesitant to order pork chops at a restaurant, but Hillcrest served juicy, tender, and great tasting chops! It was their special on a Tuesday night. We go to Hillcrest often, as we have a vacation home in the area. We also have had...their fabulous almond crusted walleye on their "Walleye Wednesday" and their Friday fish fry and broiled fish is also fantastic! Tenderloins come out sizzling and perfect. Peggy is our favorite friendly bartender.More
