This was our second visit to Al Johnson's. The goats are still loitering around on the roof, enjoying the grass, and looking down on us humans. We had an excellent Swedish breakfast there. We had a very friendly waitress, and it was quick service in spite of the busload of folks who arrived at the same time. It is a... More

Everyone that heard we were going to Door County said, "eat breakfast at Al Johnson's. They have GOATS on the roof!" This is true unless it is raining but, we went anyway. Very busy but quick seating. You have to try the Swedish pancakes. Topped with cherries and whipped cream would be a good choice. If you are in Door... More

This restaurant allows you to order from the breakfast or lunch menu at dinner. I really appreciate that. I had the special that day, chicken vegetable with grilled cheese. Soup was very tasty, the sandwich was large, very satisfying. The goats kept hiding on the back side of the roof. The "butik" had a great assortment of Swedish items for... More

Do you see the crowd of tourists pointing cameras skyward? Then you have found Al Johnson's Restaurant. The dining room seating is cozy close, service efficient with a hefty dose of 'don't linger over that cup of coffee'...our dessert dish was whisked away BEFORE the last cherry was speared. The food--great Swedish pancakes, the pickled beets were very tasty, and... More

We enjoyed the goats on the roof and the green grass they munched on. Very crowded as buses brought in too many guests at one time. We were a group of 4 and waited 25 minutes for a table due to bus patrons. Gift shop is very authentic yet pricey. Must see for Door County!!

Always stop here for lunch or dinner depending on the time of day. Never disappointed! The Sweedish meatballs are delish!

Al Johnson's is a fun place to check out if you've never been to Door County! They have goats on their roof and a great gift shop! The menu is Swedish! The food is average! The menu is limited!

My wife and I were walking and shopping down Bay Shore Dr, to hear this loud gathering of people inside what looked like a public park and a bar set back a bit ??? What's this we said to each other? Is this a park, a private party, or what? There were no signs we could tell what was going... More

Swedish pancakes, similar to crepes, with cherries is a delight at Al Johnson's. Although the restaurant is EXTREMELY popular and busy, the time waiting for a table is well worth it. They have an extensive gift shop of Swedish items that can entertain you while you wait. Yes, they have a huge menu, but the meatballs and pancakes are their... More
