Fellow travellers recommended the Swedish pancakes at Al Johnson's if we were ever in Door County, WI. We arrived a little later than noon for lunch, and although the place was packed, we were seated immediately. They serve breakfast anytime, so the pancakes were our plan. They came with the customary butter and syrup, but also a dish of Lingonberries.... More
It was an hour wait, but what a gem! The giftshop is adorable, and such a great find. The food was very good. I had the roast beef and chedder sandwich. Also, the goats on the roof is just a fun sight. Lots of families when we went too
Their food was good, but I really liked the gift shop the best. My husband and I have Swedish heritage, so we have Swedish food for special occasions.
Passing thorough the town of Siister Bay you are almost sure to come upon a restaurant with grass on its roof and goats sitting on top of it. The traffic almost always comes to a stop around the area. So, one day we decided to stop by. We were looking forward to dine at this Swedish restaurant and try their... More
The first thing to notice are the goats grazing on the roof - very unusual to say the least. This place seems to do a very good business. We ate there about 2 PM on a Tuesday afternoon in mid-August and there were plenty of people waiting for tables but our wait for a table for two was only 15... More
This place was recomended by our rental agent. She was correct. Food good. Highlight of meal was the green grass roof with 4 goats! Yes goats, on the roof! Amazing and in the middle of this quaint & charming town.
My husband and I went to Al Johnson for breakfast; though It was super busy but time went fast as they have a cute little shop inside the restaurant that you can walk into or go outside and find Goats on the roof which is super cool by the way!! Beautiful view and it’s a must to visit place when... More
We drove past this restaurant several times as we traveled the peninsula (and of course saw the goats!) and the restaurant always seemed busy. So, it wasn't a surprise that there was a moderately long wait. The perch dinner was great. My wife got the Swedish meatballs, which I tried, but I did not like them very much. They tasted... More

We noticed that he trees in front were taken down and now there is no shade for your goats when they are on the roof. We were fortunate enough to see them in the morning but when we came by later at around 1:30 they were not there and there were a bunch of disappointed people looking for them. We were wondering why the changes to the front of the building?
i got a pair of very pretty red mittens there in Sept and found out when I went to wear them now that they are too small. can I order a larger pair?
